Darrells is awesome I really like the Grilled Shrimp the best. The Special is also good. The Jalopena Mayo is the best Mayo I've ever had.

The Roast Beef at Bears in Covington is good.

The All that jazz at the Verde Mart is the best po-boy in Nola.

R&O's had the best Fried Shrimp Po-boy

That said, I'll take a roast beef po boy from the Pastime over any of the one's I've had in New Orleans.

There is a reason that the very best places in N.O. DO NOT make thier own bread but order from these bakeries

so the only bakeries that put out good "poboy" bread are in new orleans? lafayette has great bakery that we get our bread from and i'd say our bread is very close to what new orleans poboy bread is like...

frick you dude. You call everyone that disagrees with you about po-boys a sandwich snob but you obviously have a special place in your heart for Darrell's. How sweet. I had one of the specials and I can go to a few places in St. Bernard that will blow that shite out of the water.

Statistics can be made up to prove anything. 80% of all people know that.

If it were legal to marry a sandwich, would you marry a Darryl's Special? Assuming it put out on the second date.

what/where is johnny's? i'm not a huge po-boy person b/c i actually don't care for the bread, but i like to try things.

I know that's sacreligious, but i only like french bread to dip into a good bbq shrimp sauce or to eat warm with soft butter. I'm a bigger fan of crusty italian/european breads esp if they are multigrain, wheat, rye, etc.

Bmoney-how much is it from the place on Gardere? and Where on Gardere is it located? I guess I should be packing if I go huh?

It's between Burbank and GSRI on the left (if coming from Burbank). It's not really that bad in there, I just wouldn't want to hang out very long. I usually call my orders in so they're ready to go when I get there. With tax, they run about $5. I usually pick up 2 and feed the whole family (with leftovers to boot) for $10 and some change.

Ok if you retards want to call a ham sandwich a cheescake and be completely ignorant so be it. You cant dispute the fact that a sandwich on a hoagie roll is NOT a Po-Boy.

Ok, dude, why don't you try to avoid going to retarded extremes here?

I never said that a sandwich on a hoagie roll IS a poboy. I just think it is retarded for a (supposedly) grown human being to spend so much time vehemently arguing about the difference between a poboy and a sub/hoagie/etc, when the ONLY thing that matters (or should matter to people with common sense) is how it tastes. So if I decide to eat a shrimp "sub" and it tastes great, then I eat a shrimp "poboy" and it tastes like shite, I don't really give a shite which one is authentic or not. I'll eat the one that tastes good.
