I've never been a big fan of deep dish myself. It's just too much. Now if I'm starved I might have a slice at a restaurant, but for the most part I love a nice big thin crust slice. Little Ceasers has thin crust now and I had some earlier today. It was pretty good, and you couldn't tell it was from them. For the price you can't beat it. I think the best though is traditional New York Style pizza. We have some local restaurants that give you big helpings. Nothing like seeing that pool of grease as you pull off a pepperoni for a better inspection. What do you like?

My favorite pizza is a thin foldable NY style slice.

If I can’t have that, which I can’t anywhere around here, I actually just prefer traditional or “pan” pizza. I don’t like thin crust that’s basically a cracker, and I have no interest in the 4” deep Chicago pizzas.

I like the idea of Neapolitan style pizza (Rocca), but I never enjoy it nearly as much as cheesy/saucy/melty American pizza.

When you have that thin soggy New York Style pizza

Hmm. Good New York style pizza is supposed to be just soft enough to fold, but crispy on the bottom to withstand the cheese and sauce. Makes a crunch sound but isn’t a rock hard cracker that breaks entirely in half when you fold it.

Bon Appetit did a good video where a dude hopped around to a shite ton of pizza joints in NYC and rated each one. Crisp enough underside to withstand the cheese and sauce was one of the scoring criteria.

I think I meant to say traditional in the thread. I do agree though, nothing like a traditional. That 4inches of deep dish pizza, now that's hard to tackle.

I prefer thin crust but the best pizza I've ever had was the deep dish from Giardano's in Chicago.

I make my own. I use a New York style dough recipe but I don’t roll it razor thin. It’s more on the pan side. I let the dough sit in the fridge for a few days to build some character and I usually just throw on 2-3 toppings and blast it in the oven as hot as it will go 550+.

The best pizzas are the ones that aren’t overly complicated. Limit your ingredients and blast that shite as hot as your oven will go

I don't do deep dish either. I like traditional. I will say whoever came up with that school pizza recipe back in the day, I'd like to shake his/her hand.

Thin and crispy, though I’ll take nearly any crust as long as it’s crisp on the bottom and not too bready.

Thin crust for me. If I want to eat that much dough, I'll order a po-boy or a Muff.

Preference is thin with a very crisp crust. But true Chicago deep dish is an excellent meal.

Yes, very much agree. I went to NY for the first time this year and pizza will never be the same.

If I can't get that then I'm fine with thin crust.

Prefer NY style, almost always, but a personal pan pizza from Pequod's is awesome.

I'm an equal opportunity pizza lover. NY? Yes please. Neapolitan? For sure. Detroit? You know it. Chicago? Hand me a fork. Totinos frozen? Indeed.

I’ll say the same thing except swap out giardanos for Lou malnati’s butter crust.

The only pizza IMO.

Chicago is a casserole.

Lol. I prefer NY style, too, but Chicago's deep dish is not that complicated. Just a matter if you prefer a slice that is savory.
