Consider spending your $100 budget on just one bottle. Even though he's a Doctor, I would be surprised if he would even do that. Get him something he'd never get himself.

At your price point, yes. If he is actually a wine drinker the other suggestions will likely not be as appealing.

The previous suggestions are something you bring to a dinner party.

For about $30 +/- you can get a bottle of 12 Clones Pinot Noir, which is as good as any Pinot I’ve ever had.

Meiomi is fine. It’s a gift and they’ll be fine with it. Don’t overthink it.

Meiomi is my least favorite Pinot. It is much heavier than most Pinot and because it is a blend of Pinot grapes can vary. I do not think it even drinks like a Pinot. BUT I know alot of folks who love it. I would go to a wine store and ask what they recommend in that range.

Meiomi sucks. Less than $20 and not very good.

Meiomi is shite. Caymus is going the same way. Just crowd pleasers for people who want sweet fruit bombs.

There’s a guy on Instagram I ran across called “the people’s somm”. He shits on Meiomi like they owe him rent.

He has a couple of videos of him trying to recreate Meiomi Pinot with sugar and shitty wine.

I will add that I’ve had the Caymus Zin a good bit, but you have to get that through the wine club. It’s pretty good, at least the last couple I’ve had at the duck camp were tasty.

I’m a big fan of the Venge and Ridge stuff. Venge Silencio and Signal Fire, along with the Ridge Lytton Springs are what I usually will bring to a party.

You can find nice pinot in that range. And second poster who said penner-Ashe, although she sold it a few years back.

But if you have a little elasticity in your budget and can find it, Antica Terra is your play here. Just gorgeous willamette valley pinot and if the doctor is into wine, will know that bottle.

He’s a doc, he can afford whatever Pinot he wants. It’s a gift, the doc will appreciate any gift.

Literally one of the worst possible bottles of wine you can buy at that price point.

Not really a wine drinker, but I've got a bottle 2022 Migration that seems pretty damn great to me.

If you can find Illahe Pinot, it's very good. It may be slightly below your price point. Admittedly, I am a huge fan of the Oregon pinots.
Meiomi sucks.

Etude and Migration. 2 favorites in that approximate range.

They would also like a bottle of Cakebread Cabernet.
