Commotion is a nice change of pace but it has definitely fallen behind Envie, Jucifer, Holy Roller, Voodoo, etc.

That's for sure. I haven't had voodoo in a long time, but holy roller is a go to for pounding them down.

To be fair, Heady primarily lives on its reputation at this point. It’s not as great as it’s cracked up to be.
I still like it, but I like bitterness in my beers, and Heady still has some. It's not just soft juice. Ghost also has some bitterness, too, which is nice.

Their website is the worst format to order multiple items quickly. It also lagged out

Turns out there’s sufficient demand for $24 4-packs?

Nope....I was able to get some Ghost Diamonds but nothing else

Evidently they don’t. Oh well. Lots of good beer at the store to enjoy without the extra hassel and expense.

Most definitely for the right beer.
With Other Half being involved makes this a hot commodity on the national trading scene (which I don’t participate in)

This shite better spurt hop euphoria with the hype and sellout in 3 mins.
I think their second round of DDH Ghost was a disappointment.

So over special releases, brewery only, high prices, traveling. Had some Gnarvana that I picked up at Elios. Thought it was fantastic. Right up there with Ghost and good enough for me right now.

Wasn’t too bad, was able to limit out and never had an issue

This would be the bottled version released in 2018 right?
I never had the first batch, but thought the third batch (in cans) was better than the second batch

I’m your guy, J Murdah. Hard to trust you with a name like that, though. You mind meeting at a police station?

I'm just going to interject this into the conversation, and you can absolutely dismiss me for whatever reason you might want to.
There's so much good beer in LA now, particularly IPAs, that you don't have to pay these prices. It's no longer a market where you drink one specific beer or you've missed out on "good beer" entirely like it was when Ghost was the best IPA in the state and was head, shoulders, and waist above the rest and people used to basically chase trucks. If Parish continues to sell out these releases in this manner in this amount of time, they're going to continue pricing things in this manner. Why shouldn't they? That also goes for the Houston baws who have their own hazy IPA factory(ies).
This whole market is predicated on FOMO (fear of missing out). "OH shite, THIS ONE HAS CITRA AND MOSAIC HOPS, THAT'S COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE I HAD LAST WEEK WITH CITRA AND SIMCOE!" Are they objectively different? Yup. Will they taste different? Yup. Are they small batch offerings with relatively "affordable" case limits that are meant to encourage you to buy the max because it's only $108, that's just two meals out for you and your wife, you'll just cook this week? Yep. It's all marketing. Carefully crafted and designed to separate you from your money.
Just buy Jucifer off the shelves.
