Parish is overrated. They make good beer, but it isn't all that. Reve is their best offering by a long shot. I wish they could do that Neapolitan stout again. Andrew makes a hell of a stout but he is caught up in the haze BS

This is laughable.

I find the below quote humorous.

quote:

In 2014, we came out with Ghost in the Machine. It was two years in development. I can guarantee you that most breweries were not developing their IPAs for two years. They’re brewing IPAs like they read how to brew IPAs. They’re brewing hoppy beers like they’ve read or seen other people brew hoppy beers.

We figured out in a different manner on our own. That’s why it was really different. It was radical. It was hazy. It was opaque looking, like orange juice almost. Like banana orange juice. The beer looked like that—it’s very non-traditional. The textbook way to brew proper beer tells you to make beer clear. You filter it, you do all these things to make it drop clear. You change the pH and the manner to make it drop clear. You add ingredients in a way to make it drop clear. So that there’s no haziness. But we said, “Forget that, we’re going to do what’s delicious. We don’t care about the way it looks.” And we started making Ghost in the Machine.

The man has let demand inflate his ego. NEIPAs had been a thing for a decade before Parish sold their first hazy batch. Alchemist opened in 2003, had beer nerds lining out the pub by the end of the decade, and people following delivery trucks by 2011. It was a smart decision on Parish's part to get out ahead of the curve in LA, but it wasn't groundbreaking.

The first Ghost was not hazy.

He had his first Heady a year or so before Ghost was released. Tetu gave it to him.

He said then that Ghost was better than Heady, the public had never tried Ghost. The taproom didn't even exist.

The first batch of Ghost was not better than Heady.

That batch 3 tho...

To be fair, Heady primarily lives on its reputation at this point. It’s not as great as it’s cracked up to be.

Anyone know where I can find some vanilla air? I’d love to do a side by side with my $35 bottle

I wish. No 750s, but know there are a couple of old ones that got forgotten about at the back of the fridge. May have to bust one of them out tonight in honor of this thread.

I heard the HOOF HEARTED DIPA 4-packs are $25 at Calandros....

We shittin on them in this thread too, or making a separate thread?
Really? FWIW poeple should shite on Calandros for that price not HH. HH is alright, but leave it calandros to create a false sense of demand to upcharge their product.
