I think they've been open about the fact that it might take a batch or two to dial it in like they want, but they're confident it'll get there

Then why do u distribute the terrible product? Get it right then can/distribute. Thank God I read this board and didnt buy that garbage this week. Tried one a buddy bought and it was not good.

Terrible business practice. Screams a level of arrogance believing their product will sell regardless. It may. But I am not hustling to their brewery anymore tho. Thats a shame.

There is definitely a beer release either this weekend or next, the person I spoke to wasn't sure if it would be ready for this weekend. From the OP, it appears that it won't be ready until next weekend.

Wouldn't it be smarter to "dial it in" before you start to sell it?

Do you know how much beer 100 barrels is?

This isn't like dumping out a bad pot of gumbo. 100 barrels is a metric shite ton of beer that costs tens of thousands of dollars to make.

There is no question about it. Even more the reason why, when you make the decision to go this route and "do not plan on taking on debt," you forecast accordingly and prepare financially. I am sure some will say I am just a dinosaur in my way of business practices, but working thru the kinks off the backs of your loyal patrons is bad business.

Agreed. The 100 barrels of piss should be his problem; not the consumers'.

I guess their thought was to let the consumers try it and maybe it would go like the bad Ghost batches, people still drink it but just aren’t impressed. I doubt they knew it was as bad as y’all are making it out to be (haven’t tried since y’all say it’s that bad)

That's because it's not. I tried can versus bottle side by side. The canned version was more bitter, and the bottled version smelled better with a nicer mouthfeel. But for people to claim that the canned version is a terrible beer is a stretch.

I bought 1 - 4 pack and tried my first one last night. The can is not good. Yes it is more bitter, but it also lacks hop aroma and flavor. Now maybe we are all spoiled now since we have multiple varieties of great "juicy" IPA's and pale ales to choose from now, but for my palate, this wasn't good.

If this was the beer Envie was meant to be, would you seek it out? I sure as shite wouldn't buy it. And I won't be purchasing anymore Envie in a can until someone else decides to become the guinea pig and taste other batches.

I'll buy bottles and try subsequent canned batches so I can determine for myself instead of letting anonymous posters on a message board tell me what's good and what's bad.

I've wasted a helluva lot more than $10 on much shittier beer than this batch of canned Envie.

I wish I would have listened to anonymous posters before buying that 1 4 pack. Now it will sit before I throw them all out. Granted it was only $10, which is the main reason why I like getting singles if available, before purchasing 6 packs/4 packs of beer. Same thing with the Nova Vert release. I bought 2 - 4 packs and didn't see any reviews on it. Drank a few, and it's just not very good. Still have 3 in my fridge.

I have too. Doesn't make this last batch of canned Envie anymore acceptable, IMO.

I made the mistake of buying a 4-pack of Hopitoulas the other day because it was fresh and I hadn't tried it in a while... that was disappointing.

I'm not going to video myself pouring it down my toilet, but it'll be a while before I try it again.
