Aside from the burger, it is the ultimate summer sandwich, IMO. Simple, refreshing, and flavorful, soft yet crisp, this humble sandwich hits the spot.

The world may be crazy these days, but sitting outside listening to the sounds of summer, with a cold beer and a BLT made with vegetables from my garden, is a reminder that life is good.

It's my favorite sandwich, and I make them all the time. I can't even order one in a restaurant because I think the one I make is so much better

Haven’t done it with an egg, but I do regularly do a BLAT to change it up.

Greatest sandwich of all time. I got burned out on them this summer though. Was eating one for lunch 2 or 3 days a week when my tomato plants were going crazy.

May have to have one tomorrow now.

Lightly toasted white bread
Duke’s mayo
Heirloom tomato with light s&p
Green leaf lettuce
3 slices of bacon

The best.

BLT should only have BLT and mayo. The bread is your only variation, and I prefer sourdough toast.

BLT + Corn on the Cob = GOAT summer meal.

My daughter eats hers without mayo, I'm ashamed to admit. Mayo is a condiment that was made for the BLT...

Made one for the wife this morning to take to work to eat as she got her day started. She went in early and didn't have time to eat at home.

And they are even better when you make your own bacon....

Yep. I'm not a huge mayo fan, but can't eat a BLT without it. Mandatory for a tomato sandwich as well.

I buy the Wrights Bacon or the Costco Thick Cut in the 3 lb. packs and oven bake it to a little less than done. When cool I divide it up into 1 lb portions and freeze. When it's time for a BLT which is often , I pull out several slices, microwave and make either a BLT or a Club with lots of Blue Plate Mayo!!

There is nothing like some Benton's bacon, a piece of iceberg lettuce, a thick schmear of Duke's mayo, and some thick sliced tomatoes that were on the plant five minutes ago.
