I've seen full Karen, that isn't it.

When I hit the wall of a stupid policy, an employee with no power to override, I just go someplace else. We stopped at Roux 61, my wife was in a boot and using crutches, I asked the hostess to sit us as close as possible, for obvious reasons. The room behind her was half full, but she said 'we're only seating on the back porch now'.

The food at Brewbachers across the street is excellent.

Hold up. That is not the whole story. When did it change to being your wife?

I tore a hamstring and I'll be on crutches for a bit, it is no fun trying to get around on those damn things. We stopped for lunch at Roux 61, the greeter b*tch gives the person seating us 2 menus and says "table 18". And we start walking, this idiot, in spite of seeing my condition, seats us at a table in the back room, about as far as you can get from the front door. I had to stop for a break before I got there, I was annoyed.

On the way out I stopped at her desk, I said, "if I may make a suggestion, when you see a customer come in on crutches or a cane, please seat them as close as possible, not in the back room".

Her ridiculous answer? "I have to seat people according to our rotation chart".

Texas Cattle Company hostess replies "I'm sorry you can't order a "togo" order unless it is by phone our app or online".

I see the eruption, we are talking Krakatoa.

"Do you want me to call this man, that is standing two feet from me for a hamburger"?

You are getting downvoted, but I am glad to see the Karens meet.

my fave way to order takeout is from the bar and have a beer or two while it's being prepared

there is a restaurant down the street from us that serves mediocre food. About every two weeks I go there just for this reason. I order my food and two beers. Its a great 20 minute wait.

Reminded me of the time I ordered take-out at Popeyes.

Me: "I'd like a two piece white with redbeans/rice".

Employee: "I'm sorry our computer is down".
Me: "I have $12 cash, that should cover it".

Employee: "Did you not understand, our computer IS NOT WORKING"!

It wasnt about the cash register. They couldnt put your order in. Period.

I take back my support of your wife fussing at the lady.

And I have never once gotten a baked potato with a burger. I think that is why they refused service.

Maybe it happened to both of them on separate occasions.

This isn't out of the ordinary for a steak place that regularly serves baked potatoes.

Or for Port of Call.

As the thread continues, Mingo was proven, once again, to be correct with the very first post. 40 something downvotes, SAD!

The first time to me, the second time I had the sense to ask first. We love the $.50 oysters on Tuesday and Roux 61 and go there at least once a month. Unfortunately, we are usually the area to go to BROC next door, we're not young so our orthopedist is our best friend.

She perhaps could have ordered it and asked for it to be put in a doggie bag immediately.

Stupid rule for the restaurant though.

Every woman I’ve ever met, skinny or fat, gets cranky and moody when hungry.
