Must try foods for 1st time visitor

gonna be in New Orleans in early March for approx 1 week. if you had to make a list of the top 5 foods of Louisiana (recommendations of restaurants are also welcome) for a first time visitor to Louisiana, I'd love to see a list

Go to Peche and pick one or two of the specials. Find some raw oysters and beer. There are countless places for that. Felix’s is in the Quarter. There’s a Drago’s in the city proper for Chargrilled oysters. I’d do that. Go to Meril, Couchon, Dominica.
For a poboy I agree with Parkway but it isn’t super close. If you go get the roast beef and shrimp on one poboy.
I’d try to hit Galatoire’s. It’s a great old New Orleans atmosphere. I’ve never walked out of there happy as a clam. Mostly due to getting drunk upstairs while waiting.

R&O Special Sandwich
Turtle Soup at Commander’s
I’d recommend getting boiled crawfish, boudin, seafood gumbo, and pork and sausage jambalaya, but I don’t know where in New Orleans would be the best place for any of those items.

Muffaletta from Central Grocery in the Quarter or Frenchaletta from Liuzza's on Bienville St. I like Liuzza's since it's not in the Quarter and they have great big glass bowl shaped frozen beer mugs.
R & O's is a good shout.
Higher end dining would be Brigsten's in the Riverbend area of N.O. Excellent good and homey atmosphere.
Parkway Bakery or Bevi in the Mid-City area. Whatever catches your eye on their menus is going to be good.
Definitely hit Drago's for the charbroiled oysters. Two locations, downtown N.O. and in Metairie to choose from. I prefer the Metairie location.
ETA: Central Grocery is still closed due to damage from Hurricane Ida when their roof caved in. You can still get their muffs at Zuppardo's in Metairie or order them to be shipped.

Johnny’s does. Parkway is good, but their roast beef is bland compared to Johnny’s

I always recommend Mandina's. Great local spot. Great atmosphere. Great food. Get any dish on the menu, I've never had a bad one. You can take the street car up Canal to the restaurant if you want, both ways or uber one way.
