I wouldn't say this place is overrated. IMO it gets shite on here for no reason other than its name.

I'd say for what it is... Juan's Flying Burrito is pretty overrated...

Rum House is overrated for the crowds it gets. Ignatius is also overrated in my opinion.

Truthfully, aside from Coquette, the Garden District area of Magazine doesn't provide that many good food options. You can go to Rum House and wait two hours. You can go to The Bulldog and get a frozen burger. You can go to Regenillis and get an average pizza or an okay sandwich. You can go to Gott Gourmet and get an "okay meal". I never was a big fan of Joey K's. You can go to Tracey's and get a roast beef po boy that may or may not have a roach in it. You can go to Salu and pay for overpriced Tapas. I can go on and on.

Port Of Call.......... just because you have to wait hours for an average burger.

I wasn't impressed with Grand Isle

I wouldn't feed Felix's to my Dog

Most over-rated on this board is Clancy's. I love it, and I think it is very good, but Patois is right up the street...

I'd argue that the food at Galatoire's is under-rated if anything.

Worked their as a kid. I would never eat there.

I don't know if it is overrated though, because I've never heard anyone say anything good about it, or even heard anyone say anything about it, or even know anyone who has ever eaten there. I think 99.8% of their business is tourists sent their by their hotel staff.

My vote goes to Mother's.

Yeah. I'm not waiting 2 hours for overpriced tacos and drinks. I like a few things on their menu (the Cuban is legit), but you combine all the other mediocre food, the wait for a table, the drink prices, the overpriced and over-salted tacos and then go and read Yelp reviews of how awesome the place is and see girls on FB extolling it as THE happening spot in Nola and you have the definition of "overrated."

Agreed on all points. Sake Cafe is whatever too. Along with Byblos which is garbage. Haven't been to Ignatius since they moved but when I went to the old location I wasn't very impressed. Artz Bagelz is a joke compared to Stein's. Smashburger = boring chain. Sucre is overpriced nonsense .. in fact, it needs consideration for most overrated place in the city.

The only places I really eat in that stretch are Coquette, La Divina and Jung's Golden Dragon.

The garden district is only a few blocks. Not really sure if is a big enough area for such critique

I'm not a fan of Camellia Grill, especially given how long the line can often get

Too late. The culinary geniuses (Tarek Tay, Gaby Saliba and Hicham Khodr) behind Byblos and Salu are opening a BBQ joint and a Mexican restaurant right next door.

Yes. The clientele leaves much to be desired. As does the staff. As does the food.

Not exactly in the "can't wait" camp, but I'm certainly interested to see what that place will be like.
