I'd say that thread is aimed more at the prevalent attitude here that there's only one correct answer. People have different tastes and are in different phases of their lives. To the college student living on Ramen and saltines all week, Chili's probably seems high quality.

Exactly. All these 25 year olds that only eat foie gras for breakfast everyday are the one's I think are funny. If you act like that in public, you must not have too many friends.

Someone on the original OT thread mentioned Weber grills.

I found this part funny. I am always one who will suggest Weber grills for people asking for a good mid priced grill. If one were to be a snob, they would throw out Viking Jenn Air, or a similiar $1500 and up model every time this subject came up.

To be called a Food Snob is a compliment.

You are not a food snob if:
-You have ever felt the weight of the bag handed you through the drive-in window and thought "I shudda ordered more".

-Your driver side front window on your car broke in the up position and you lost 10 pounds the 1st week.

-"Upscale" means you don't have to carry the tray to your table.

-You eat Cool Whip out of the carton

-Fast food places should not be allowed to change prices and portion sizes without congressional approval.

-It should be a Nat'l holiday when the McRib comes out.

-You think it is "gourmet" to stuff it with cream cheese and wrap it in bacon.

I used to love my Weber kettle and may go back to it one day. However, it is an 80 dollar grill.

We can do a South LA vs. North LA thread soon...let's save it for a boring OT day though.

Of course I have, how do you think I know all that stuff. I travel a lot, fast food breakfast is usually the way to go. In some places with notoriously bad food, like the state of Alabama north of I-10, fast food is a godsend.

In south Louisiana, after 10am, only if in a big hurry. To many better choices for about the same price.

Apparently, the act of critiquing elements of one's cooking or dining out means you are a food snob.

I usually don't critique someone's cooking. More about being polite than anything.

Blasphemy! Cool Whip is without a doubt the best food substitute man has ever invented.

I had lunch at Restaurant August on Friday...I wish you could have seen one dude in particular, whose picture should be in the dictionary under food snob.

He was reading Besh's cookbook while eating - with another magazine on top of it.

Whatever the hell they brought to the table must have been off the menu. He leaned down and sniffed the bowl before taking his first bite!

no, but only b/c i eat anything in front of me and forced friends to stop at McDonald's on Sunday so i cold eat 2 McRibs. I love great food, and am discerning in what i think is really good/great, but i eat the shite out of almost anything. I don't pretend that everything i eat is good. it's not.
+1 (although I haven't had a McRib in about 20 years)

ramrod is more of a Gaming Board snob than Movie or Food snob.

if you can't get 4 head shots in a row or at least a 2.5 K/D ratio he won't even look at you
