They charge a premium for pizza that YOU have to cook at home and it takes FOREVER to get your order, regardless if you call it in or do it in store. So it takes 2-3 hours from the decision to eat there until you are finally eating it. That's not gonna last in any business

I disagree. Maybe the one close to my house has better employees? I call in my order, turn my oven on to preheat or light the ceramic, drive 5 min to Papa Murphys, pick up pizza, return home... And have piping hot pizza in 18 minutes from when I return. Total process from order to eating pizza is less than an hour. And, the pizza toppings I chose.

Obviously some arent efficient tho, because they are closing.

Excited about this, as there is no great pizza option in the metro.

I dunno, we've been going to Red Zeppelin a bit lately. They have good pies and nice beer selection. Reginelli's is good. Fleur de Lis is a staple, despite the crappy service, only taking cash and the fact that there's a long wait unless you show up at 5 p.m.

When I moved away from Baton Rouge, the Sherwood/Coursey/Jones Creek area was inundated with pizza joints ... is there still a Papa Murphys and a Hungry Howie's over there by the Walmart Market on Coursey?

Not sure. There seems to be a bazillion pizza joints here tho. So many that my family cannot try them all without being hippos! We live near the Highland/Airline area.

Fleur De Lis, Red Zeppelin, Grimaldi's, Bistro Italia, Papa Murphy's, Whole Foods, Pizza Bar at Ruffinos, Gattis (wife & kid go - I just can't do it), or Create Our Own/Homemade were/are our decisions as a family when we wanted pizza. Oscar's (Closed), Mama Della's (Closed) used to be in that rotation. Just too dang many to eat them all regularly. Some, admittedly, are chosen determining what part of town we are on at the moment, how much time we have, or what day of the week it is....... There are a lot of pizza joints in town not listed that we don't like, too.

It's in the group of buildings that has Co-op, Umami, and CC's. Walkons is next door.

I went and tried pizza last night. I was pretty well pleased. The distance is not going to work great for me, so hopefully they build one closer to Pville. You max out at $8 a pizza for unlimited toppings and have Envie on tap. The crust is really good IMO and the toppings seem to have been given good attention. A good cut above the normal sysco-esque toppings a lot of pizzas seem to use.

That said, it's very small and was pretty crowded for dinner rush.

I also went.

Pizza was a very good size, and only $8 for unlimited toppings. Had Envie on tap as well.

The pizza came out quick and was very good. One of the toppings you can choose is andouille sausage that they get daily from city pork.

Their payment system was down when we went, so they came around and gave us our checks. The manager and owner apologized (even though I really didn't care) and they gave us our beer for free.

I will definitely be back.

I went with geauxpack, like he said, good food, great price, and exceptional service. I was pleasantly surprised. The only complaint I could possibly have is that there was only one size crust. It was plenty enough food for me, but I could envision some college student wanting a bigger pizza.

Will be back. Would be a great place for a quick bite and beer before LSU basketball and baseball.

So I finally got around to trying this place last night.

Oh why did I wait so long. Place is legit and figured I would give this thread a bump.

Lit is terrible. Everyone should stay away.

Especially from a custom:

olive oil base, mozzarella, parmesan, sausage, meatball, artichoke, black olives, mushrooms, and a sprinkle of crushed garlic.

Don't ever order that, it's mine and you're not allowed.

I like it, they have been killing it with the college crowd. The place is not big enough to handle all the customers at peak times.

They are putting one in Prairieville by the Izzo's in that strip mall.

I agree, LIT is awesome. I usually hit up Umami and then get a pizza from Lit to go. Two great places in the same shopping center.

I almost can't believe it's run by the Izzo founders with how well priced Lit is. I think it's plenty of food and great toppings for $8
