I find Atl to one of the most positive and easygoing people on this entire site. So much so I kinda wonder if he is secretly a serial killer or something.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will have to check it out. I miss Mamma Della's and had hopes for the B&M Dolce Vita but currently settling for whole foods when not home baked

As others have stated, it's pretty disingenuous to claim some "cartoon light bulb" as their inspiration. I saw Mod Pizza here in Houston as well as Blaze in LA a few years ago and really wish I'd have thought of the "Subway/ Izzo's/ Moe's style" pizza restaurant. You have to admit, it's a solid plan considering that a good hot oven can give you a well cooked pizza in just a few minutes.

I wonder if the "more toppings," crowd might come around that more isn't necessarily better on a pizza when they actually have control over their toppings/ end product...

I don't eat a lot of pizza-I wish I did- so I haven't been to that many places.

I like Basil's. Siciliano's is good even though it's a dump. Favorite is probably Screamin' Mimi's.

Haven't had Hucapoos, Lighthouse, or Vinnie Van Go Go's.

I've had Your Pie and Uncle Maddio's. I like them both.

Maybe so, but if I'm around campus/ south BR it's just not worth the drive.

So this is opening where Marty J's was. The place seems like a great layout for pizza. Is it going to be that much better than Mellow?

This concept is going to bust soon, the market is oversaturated.

In the Chicago area, within 20 minutes of me there is Blaze, Mod, Pie Five, Your Pie. Multiple locations of some too.

This is probably true on a macro scale. I'd venture to guess the majority of LA residents have never even heard of the concept. I'd much rather a proliferation of this style of pizza than Dominos, Pizza Hut and Papa Johns.

Seems like death to Papa Murphy's. Not related, but the PM's at Bluebonnet/Perkins recently closed.

I've literally never gotten it myself before, but I enjoy Papa Murphys when I've had it at other people's places. The white one is good.

Wow, the ones in Zachary, Central, Walker, etc. are all closed too.

Wow, that's really reasonable. I will have to give this place a shot.

Papa murphys has a terrible concept, I'm not suprised to see them fail

They charge a premium for pizza that YOU have to cook at home and it takes FOREVER to get your order, regardless if you call it in or do it in store. So it takes 2-3 hours from the decision to eat there until you are finally eating it. That's not gonna last in any business
