Back in high school Taco Bell was my go-to date place for me and my girlfriend. I was such a cheap bastard
!
We could each get what we wanted for $5.70.

That new Chipolte Cheese Gordita is legit
There is a new chipotle chicken burrito on the $2 menu that’s pretty good

In college Olive Garden was a nice date. I remember getting out of there for $30 and that was a lot for me. Fast food now costs like $30 for 2 people and I’m not that old. I also haven’t been there in many years

Chili Cheese Burrito if they have it and a regular order of nachos (mostly for the cheese dip for the burrito)

What are your go-to items at Taco Bell?
Chips and cheese
3 Soft tacos
Must have: Mexican Pizza
I haven't had Taco Bell since they took it off their menu. I read that they're supposed to bring it back sometime this spring. Hopefully that's true. I need one of those.

I just spent $30 at Taco Bell and got like 8 different items.
For $30 you could have gone to a local owned authentic Mexican place, and gotten two nice dinner entrees of exponentially better quality.

Taco Bell has gotten expensive you used to be able to load up all kinds of crap for like 5 bucks
Now its easily over 10 for a few different items

I'm not going back to the Bell until they get the Mexican pizza back.
This. I mean I’ll still go but I cuss out the drive thru menu as I desperately search for my Mexican pizza combo that came with 2 crunchy tacos, a large Mt. Dee and my add on chicken soft supreme. It was my order for 25 years. The only time I ever drank Mt. Dew too. Kinda like ginger ale on an airplane. But anyway, damn you Taco Bell. Damn you to hell

I don't get Taco Bell often, but I do love a chicken quesadilla and/or the quesarito.

Crunchwrap has been my go to since 2008 when they opened the Taco Hut next to my dorm (McVoy) spring semester. I could get a crunchwrap and Pizza Hut breadsticks with just a swipe of my student ID. That was dangerous.
My other go to the past few years has been the chipotle chicken grillers. I don't get Taco Bell all that often, maybe once every couple months.
ETA: just remembered this gem from the end of my time as a student
PUT THE frickING PIZZA IN THE frickING OVEN ALREADY

Go to is now a went to:
Meximelt.
Now I get a number 3 which used to be a number 1 (sneaky bastards) Burrito Supreme & Soft Taco. I rarely go though.
I went to Burger King while on the road. 3 of us was almost $30 and the wait was nuts. Crappy slow service for bad products what they’re calling the New Normal.

I really miss the Taco Light Supreme. The one with the flour taco shell like the salad bowl.
Those were my go to.
They need to bring them back!!!

Who wouldn’t want a crunch wrap ?
You mean who wouldn't want a crunch wrap that someone took just a smidgen of care to make and made sure that the ingredients were spread out evenly. Nothing worst than taking a bite of just lettuce and sour cream.

They do have the Chalupa Cravings Box for $5, but otherwise you're right. The a la carte prices are a lot more expensive than they used to me.
My go-to is soft tacos with cheesy fiesta potatoes.
I loved the steak quesadilla for a long time because of that sauce on it, but it has been a while since I've had one.

"Why" would be the first thing I would ask.
Secondly, maybe it's just that I haven't been to a Taco Bell in 20 years or so, but I'm kind of shocked that you can spend $30 at Taco Bell and not get more than 8 items.

They still have the $5 boxes
but I went yesterday for the first time in forever and got 2 chicken quesaritas and it was $11
I had to ask the girl to repeat herself
