Get a 'Kick-Ash Basket'. Makes cleaning up your ashes really easy. Highly recommend smoking a pork butt after you get your plate-setter.

I like to get a cast iron pan white hot and sear.

This Raichlen version looks pretty good. I've been wanting to try this.

Nice gift.

Get a Mapp torch to light it in a flash.

You won't need it right away, but eventually check out Ceramic Grill Store and look at the Adjustable Rig. It's very handy and doubles your grilling space.

Don't ever put a cold pizza stone in a hot egg, it could explode.

What Lester said. And I'm sure he was touting the functionality of the BGE when he said you can sear directly at 900 degrees.

In reality though, I'm searing at 500 degrees, as long as the flames are tall enough to touch my steaks.

Enjoy!

It is more expensive, but with several different configurations, it's more versatile.

I have a Mapp gas torch, is there a special tip I need or is the braising tip good enough?

After reading the suggestions, I'm going with a ceramic plate setter, Ash cleaner (didn't even think of that), I want the iron grill. Then maybe get a pizza stone later on.

It says I have to use it no higher than 350* for a few times to season the seals. So going to try a butt on there tomorrow.

No special tip needed. Fire away.

I have one and don't use it much, it's too heavy and bulky to clean. I prefer to use the SS grill instead.

Y'all still trying to decide which gadgets to add to the BGE to make it operate like a Primo?
