Never tried them though.

Double Meat Whataburger w/ Cheese.

A couple weeks ago my wife and I were on the road and in a hurry so we stopped at the Whataburger in Natchitoches, I hadn't eaten at a Whataburger in easily 5+ years. I got a double with cheese combo and she got a chicken sandwich combo and I was quite surprised that the total was almost $29.

It's probably still my favorite fast food burger but I wasn't expecting that.

So you eat 700 calories a day? That seems more detrimental to one’s health than a cheeseburger

Look, this thread isn't about me and I didn't say I eat 700 calories in a day.
You can’t win on this board. If a guy says he enjoyed a double-whatever-the-eff burger, someone will ask how big a baw he is. If another guy says that an 800 calorie burger is too much, then they wonder if he’s on his period.

800 calories is excessive? As long as you don’t routinely exceed 2.2k in a day you should be fine. A brisk walk ought to help burn off a couple hundred if you get nervous about it for some reason.

I rarely eat a fast food burger and can't recall when I last had one until recently. We got a Whataburger and I remember having one years ago that I enjoyed, so I got one earlier this month. Just a single patty which was pretty thin, but plenty for me and it was tasty. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy, freshest I can recall seeing except in pictures at other chains. The tomato was actually a rich red color and had flavor. Pickles and onions were darn good. The onion rings were really good. I couldn't eat it all. I think the amount of toppings filled me up more than the meat, but it was a good meal for me. Now, I want another one.

Just priced it:

Whataburger Jalapeno & Cheese with fries and no drink $9.54

Shake Shack Smoke Shack with fries and no drink $11.08

I'll pay the extra buck-fifty for Shake Shack. Sorry, not sorry.

I love chopped onions on a burger, so Whataburger is a win for me.

Depends on what you get. A basic shack burger is 6.19. A Whataburger is 5.89. Even when you start adding stuff its not really double.. at least not in BR.

Same and I want raw onions. I don't care for the grilled on my burger or on much of anything else.

So true!

Those guys should probably stay off the F&DB and go hang out on Health and Fitness. They seem obsessed.

Double meat with cheese, mayo, pickles, lettuce, grilled jalapenos and grilled onions. And don't forget to ask for a toasted bun.
