I'd go Weber 26" (over 22") just because it's much easier for larger cooks such as full packer briskets and multiple racks of ribs.
The 22" would be more fuel efficient for smaller cooks, however.

The problem though with the 26'ers is that there are very few accessories for them, even though they've been out a while.

Both is the correct answer. I actually have spent more money on my gas but it is part of a set up. It does an amazing job and is made of better material for sure. Much heavier.
I have a basic Weber charcoal set up for when I want to do something on the weekend. I also have a smoker that does a great job it is as basic as they come but older. I use one that can plug in electric to get the wood goi g. Suits my purposes.
A large office type event I would bring a big one in if needed.

I bought my PK 4 years ago to start. Experimenting with charcoal grilling and smoking. Since then, I’ve purchased other grills and nothing compares. Ida also tried to take her out but she rose from the debris like a Phoenix.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will go with the Weber performer. That bad boy is 600 tho
If I were going to spend that much on a Weber kettle, I'd get the 26" instead of the Performer. That said, having a shelf may be more important to you than it is to me.

Sorry you can't afford a decent gas grill brother.

Ive been cooking charcoal for the past 5-7 years and will be buying a very nice gas grill soon for the convenience. When I get off work, I don't want to have to pour the charcoal, light it, get it hot, and worry about it after I am done with it.
I can light my pit with a torch (no lighter fluid) and have it ready for steaks in 20 minutes. It's not that hard. I have had really cheap and really expensive. My Hasty Bake is 10 years old. I paid $1000 for it and still going strong. You get what you pay for in the bbq world most of the time. I plan on getting a RT 590 this spring to do some smoking on for longer periods.
Amazon sent me a PK grill 3-4 years ago by mistake. I gave it to my dad because I didn't need it. He loves it.

I already paid quite a good bit for one oven. Don't really need another one.

This isn't the right thread but I've been shopping for a new gas grill and they have definitely crept up in price for a decent one.

Weber 22” Kettle
THIS! Easily the most versatile grill out there. Learn to use it in different ways and you're only limited by its capacity.

as a young man i used a home depot char-griller for almost 20 yeas till it rusted out. when it did i went and got a high-dollar all welded offset smoker that looked great and was huge and heavy...and i hated it
gave it away and went back to the depot for another old reliable. YMMV

I just dropped $200 on the Venom auto fan. Which is more than my grill cost.
I’ll post a review. If it works as well as the reviews say it will be the best of all worlds.

If all the bbq pits I’ve had the ol Weber kettle is still going strong. I have the 26”. Extremely versatile, for steaks I usually split some kindling and throw in there and you’ve got a wood fire.

PK Grill and it isn't even close
Dang it! Now I want one. Have had a Weber Performer for 20+ yrs, but I’m intrigued by the PK360

I have a Texas Pit Crafters grill. It’s built like a tank and gets hot pretty damn quick.

If I was going to go back to charcoal briquettes, which I am not going to, I would buy a PK.
