I don’t personally own this model but would if I was buying a new grill tomorrow. I own the RT 700 and love it but honestly think the RT-B380X BULLSEYE DELUXE would fit my needs 99% of the time and arguably performs better, especially temp range wise. To name a few of the specs:

App
380 Sq. In cooking space
Front folding shelf
Ash dumper
200-1000 degree temps
18 pound hooper and cooking time
Second to none customer service

You said wood grill and beginner so I come in peace and don’t mean to start a charcoal, wood, pellet battle ha. If you meant more traditional wood style grill then ignore me.

Don't spend too much money on a charcoal grill. At the end of the day, you are spending money on metal to hold hot coals. Ive been cooking charcoal for the past 5-7 years and will be buying a very nice gas grill soon for the convenience. When I get off work, I don't want to have to pour the charcoal, light it, get it hot, and worry about it after I am done with it. I can come home, turn the gas all the way up and its ready to cook in 5 mins with a good gas grill.

So my suggestion is this. Get both. I still firmly believe there is no better tasting steak than one over charcoal/wood. I still will use my charcoal grill on occasion and on weekends but will use my new gas grill for convenience.

There's an accessory for these things that will let you do everything from legit, fairly easy to manage low and slow. All the way to wood fired pizzas.

I'll send you some links.

Still undefeated. The most versatile and effective grill/smoker for the money.

+1 for the GOAT Weber Kettle

It’s an American icon. It’s in the Smithsonian.

It’s versatile and durable. You can do high heat or low and slow. You can fit a whole Turkey. This is the only way.

PK Grill and it isn't even close. Weber wears out or rusts in about 5 years. A PK Grill last for multi-generations. It is aluminum cast and I have the hottest fires with its controls. It's patent system is the best on the market. I tried Webers for years and was tired of throwing them away went they rusted out (even with a cover). My PK Grill will be past down to my grandchildren when I die.

Uhh, I have a 1994 Weber Smokey Joe (bought new), and a 22” Weber Kettle I picked up in 1996 (it was used for two cookouts, bought for $10). Have replaced the grates in both a few times and the ash catcher in the Smokey Joe eventually deteriorated where it screws in. Spare ash catcher is holding up well. The kettles are still in great shape, along with the wood handles.

The key, as with any type of grill, or cooking appliance for that matter is to keep it clean, dry and covered.

Not shitting on the PK, supposedly the grates are the only issue.
