I think they are pretty open to any types of food. Preferably places that will not require a reservation. Thanks.

With the covid limitations and beautiful weather just warn them it may be tough to find a real sit down restaurant to walk up to.
Poboy places like Parkway, Guys, Parrains or even the controversial Turkey and the Wolf seem to move people through without much wait.
The Bower and Birdies (breakfast/brunch) are new places that seem to have had a little room for walkups when I have gone.
Cavan has a decent outdoor size so they accommodate extra people.
Bearcat Cafe for breakfast/brunch/lunch.

N7, but absolutely get reservations.
May be able to walk up to Cafe Degas. Cafe Amalie will take your name and you can grab a drink from their bar or go walk around until your table is ready.

That would be very tough unless on a week night.

I never have understood this. Making a reservation shows the establishment that I have chosen to dine there, instead of a competing restaurant. Service is usually better.

And in the age of Covid almost anywhere that doesn’t have a reservation is either extremely casual or crap.
They could go to Blue Oak, Bevi, Parkway, Turkey and the Wolf, etc etc.
But if they want an upscale restaurant they need a res

Plus it is amazingly easy in today's world. Usually 15-30min notice is all many need.

Had lunch at Domenica today. Very enjoyable.

Went to Val’s tonight, and surprisingly they had no wait. Our original plan was Barracuda, but the line was around the block.

Have you tried el cucuy?

I thought that was a weird disclaimer too. Unless they want to be able to pop in somewhere at a random time of day without knowing ahead of time when that will be?
Otherwise, I don't understand not wanting to have a guaranteed table ahead of time.

Looks super interesting, but haven’t. Any good?

Havent been either. I saw you were at Barracuda then decided to go to Vals so I thought maybe you were skipping El Cucuy for a reason. Was hoping to get feedback on them myself as I just haven't been yet.

Great happy hour. Salmon poke tacos were amazing.

Walk in to just about any place in town and it's probably going to be better than most restaurants where they live.
