You don't. The way to best enjoy a burger is plain. Your choice of cheese and condiment. The bun should be small. Buns are there to hold the burger. Nothing special. I believe the late Anthony Bourdain ate his burgers like this. It's so much better than having veggies on it.

False...the best way to enjoy your burger is eating it however you want to

You eat your burger however you want, I'll continue to add lettuce, tomato, and mayo to mine.

I agree that a burger is probably best enjoyed in its purist form. But there are plenty of good burgers with interesting toppings and combinations.

I will claim that the simplest toppings are best though. Burgers with guacamole, bacon, pepperjack cheese, queso, salsa, candied jalapeños, pickled onions, arugula, and cotija cheese are stupid.

Disagree with the dressing premise and this

I like a bacon cheeseburger, with nothing else on it.

Ketchup, mustard, and cheese

That’s all that belongs on a burger

Not in love with the ketchup and cheese combo.

Mayo goes pretty well with cheese. Ketchup and mustard if no cheese for me.

I love pickles and onions, raw onions. Also love bacon. I use cheese on rare occasions. Otherwise, mustard and mayo.

Depends on my mood. Love mushroom & Swiss burgers; love blue cheese and grilled onion with mayo; love Kraft Deluxe with pickles and bacon and BBQ sauce.

They're also great with just some mustard and cheese on a bun.

The big deal for me is that the bun be buttered and toasted.

A smallish slightly toasted brioche bun, easy mayo & mustard, slice of tomato, kraft american single, tons of raw onions.

Pickles are a must on a hamburger. Along with cheese and condiment of your liking. But each to there own.

This might have to be settled at Sonic

FYI thin sliced onions are underrated addition to burger. Pickles are another nice addition. A thick slice of a homegrown tomato is fantastic. My burgers get veggies in varying combos.
