re: How bad are NOLA covid restaurant restrictions right now?

It has been a mixed bag as far as vax cards are concerned. It depends on the restaurant. I have been to ones that check strictly. I have been to ones that allow you in if you are holding the phone up. I have been to ones where they don’t check at all.

I ate at Ruth’s, commander’s, and Brennan’s last week.
Ruth’s checked, commander’s glanced, and Brennan’s didn’t check.
It just depends on where you dine and if the hostess cares enough to look.

It's very hit or miss. It's sad how little resistance this thing got. It's sadder when you run into the odd bird who "asks for papers" with clear transparent unbridled glee, as you will occasionally.

I understand it’s their right to require it.
There’s a mandate in place they are required to check, none are doing it voluntarily at the moment.

Some were requiring it before the mandate.

What’s unfortunate is that the people who actually want to work are testing positive for the omicron variant, putting them out extended time without any covid pay
What is fortunate is that the IRS is already going after these people who were wrongfully collecting unemployment. The ones who just got back to work are being garnished and the ones who still aren’t working will hopefully be forced back into the workforce if they care about owing the IRS

Having to show papers isn’t restrictions?

Can’t do it man. Something about having to produce papers to eat somewhere I can’t get over. I understand it’s their right to require it. I just can’t get on board.
Your choice. Easy alternative to getting vaccinated. Just trying to help you enjoy your weekend without limiting your options. Honestly I don’t care what you do

And since October, they allow antigen tests right?
Yes costera was fine with our antigen test in November. They may have been the only restaurant to ask. Elizabeth’s didn’t

Blue Oak BBQ asked for my vaccine card since I was dining in. This was after I was waiting in 15 person deep line for 20 minutes...

Ate at Mandinas last night, they are most definitely asking for proof of vaccination.

I ate at Gianna last Friday, only the staff wore masks and I didn't have to show any proof of vax. Looked like a normal Friday night other than the staff.

For 80% of the adults in Orleans parish, no.
For 20% of the snowflakes, sure, I guess. I hear the Peppermill has an excellent minestrone and banana pudding waiting for you

I want to eat in Algiers. Is that in Jefferson or Orleans?

Orleans.
What restaurant, because it may just be westbank, the lines are blurred.
