How awful are “mom and pop” restaurant snobs?

You know who I am talking about. People who shite on chains and harp on about how “authentic” mom and pop restaurants are so much better? The kind that are too good for Olive Garden but would scarf down a month’s worth of calories at Mama Bella’s Italian Kitchen.
Hating on chain restaurants became the cool thing to do. Admitting that a meal at Applebees is enjoyable allegedly makes you unrefined swine.
Let us all join together in admiration of multi-billion dollar chain restaurants that have perfected their craft down to a science.
Chipotle, Panda Express, Subway, Pizza Hut
May we cherish these fine restaurants that bring smiles to millions of faces every day.
This is not a troll.

We own a small retail business here in Bham. We seek out other small businesses to spend our money with. Always have. Always will.

Plot twist: Admitting that a meal at Applebees is enjoyable actually does make you unrefined swine.

Maybe there's a good reason lots of people hate on them? It has nothing to do with somehow being cool. They also do enough business to grow and set up shop across the country.
I hate top 40 music because it's mindless jingling keys for the masses who don't care to dive any deeper. It's also brings smiles to millions of faces every day.

Chain restaurant food is just microwaved stuff you can find at walmart. And it ruins your community by being an eye sore and taking away customers from local business. I don't mind the fast casual chains youve named, they serve their purpose. But yea, spending your night out going to applebees or olive garden is really not great for anybody.

Chain restaurants have their place. Pretty cool knowing you can go to a restaurant in Baton Rouge and have the same food as one in Los Angeles.
When I go to a chain, I know what I'm getting and don't try to make it out to be greater than what it is.
For the chain haters, is Ruth's Chris a chain???

Do you want the Applebees and Olive Garden clientelle at your local restaurant causing you to wait for a table and then dine with said clientelle?

The dude who owns a subway or a mcdonalds is a small business owner.
So don't lie when you say you support small businesses if you don't. You are only supporting the small businesses you prefer.

Well no shite, do people support businesses that they don't like? I'm sure there are tons of small businesses that the poster doesn't frequent

Almost every restaurant owner I know has multiple locations…

Good chain. Always consistent, and the dishes are certainly satisfying.

I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a meal at Applebees. Chili’s and Outback, sure. Never Applebees.

small business owner
I do not eat at chains
chains are terrible food that is terrible for you (in general) and capitalize that people are too lazy and stupid to seek out quality local food
I’ll wear the snob badge proudly
