The oatmeal is expensive and very healthy

That's an oxymoron.

How about an explanation?

I looked up oatmeal and it seems healthy to me.

Edit: black coffee for me most mornings

2 eggs scrambled in the microwave for 1 minute. Fast!

= rubber eggs.

I don't know why saving two minutes is that important. I can scramble eggs in a pan almost as fast and they are much better.

"oatmeal" isn't always healthy. Instant quaker cinnamon apple...you might as well eat a bowl of sugar. Others can be very healthy. Just depends.

OK. Makes more sense than the blanket statements.

Kind of like saying "smoothies aren't healthy" or "smoothies are healthy"

Neither is necessarily true.

Starbucks isnt terrible

When it comes to instant (i.e. Quaker Oats regular) or fast food oatmeal, Starbucks is probably the healthiest of the bunch since you control what you're adding (i.e. brown sugar, dried fruit, nuts). I usually roll with half of the brown sugar packet and the dried fruit. I occasionally use it on mornings I just don't feel like fixing anything and I want something hot that isn't a breakfast sandwich.

What's a pumpkin base shake? I love pumpkin, and I Iove smoothies. Tell me more.

It's just the main component of a shake - 100% pure pumpkin. Pumpkin is pretty great for you and canned pumpkin keeps well obviously.

So for a shake you usually want Liquids: Coconut Milk, Almond Milk, Kefir, Yogurt (once blended). Then you want seeds/nuts: Almond or Peanut Butter, Flax Seed, Chia, or Hemp. Then Protein Powder and some kind of Fruit - Berries mostly. I also add 100% cocoa powder sometimes.

A selection of the above goes on top of either 100% Pumpkin or a Banana+Kale or Spinach based to give it some girth rather than being straight liquid.

If you want a Pumpkin Pie Shake then - Pumpkin, Vanilla Protein Powder, Cinnamon, Cottage or Ricotta Cheese, Almond Milk and/or Almond Butter and you can even toss in a dash of Pumpkin Spice.

I agree, takes about 3-4 minutes to texas scramble a couple eggs in the skillet. Including cleaning the skillet.

Tried something similar this week but used Canadian bacon and put them on a whole wheat English muffin.

Oatmeal is healthy. Period. How you prepare oatmeal is another story.

Eggs are healthy. Eggs are not healthy if you dump syrup and ketchup on top.

A grilled chicken breast is healthy. A grilled chicken breast topped with an alfredo sauce, and cheese is not healthy.

A piece of grilled fish is healthy. Topped with processed soup and velveeta, it's not healthy.

Get it? Not that hard.

And no, it's not the same logic as comparing oatmeal to smoothies. Smoothies are blended drinks made up of many different ingredients.

Oatmeal is oatmeal, and it's healthy.

These instant steel cut oats (classic) are very good...

That's just the oatmeal. Add about 25g of sugar if you go with the toppings.
