went get a poboy with my cousin and he ordered a simple standard ham and cheese poboy

they brought him a warm sandwich with grilled ham and melted the cheese

he said to the girl he didnt order a grilled ham poboy and she said it comes grilled and you have to specify if you want it cold

grilled ham tastes different then regular cold ham and they are not the same thing, if he wanted a grilled ham thats what he would have ordered

i never heard of such stupidity and the menu didnt say it was grilled at all and in 90 degree weather a hot sandwich with melted cheese is hard to choke down

what say you?

It wouldn't ruin my day.

I never understood this line of thinking. Does everyone just eat cold food all summer?

I can't imagine being this butthurt over a ham and cheese sandwhich. You payed 7 dollars for it and it's a sandwhich.

Ham and cheese is always hot unless you're 7 and your mom packed it in your lunch.

I love that you and your cousin made a thread over a fricking ham & cheese sandwich. I wish my life was that simple.

It's not like they served you giant bowl of hot soup that's just sitting under your face. It's a sandwich that's just heated enough to melt the cheese and brown the ham. Do you not eat cheeseburgers during the summer?

Yeah I don't understand it. I'll eat "cold weather foods" all year. This isn't 1840, we have Central heat and AC.

While I agree with you, I mentioned the other day that I am a fan of having cold side dishes during the summer. Like for 4th of July I had smoked chicken and smoked ribs but we had potato salad and pasta salad.

If I am paying for a sandwich at a restaurant I expect it to be at least pressed.

My wife doesn't understand that in modern times, we have this invention called Air Conditioning. And because of that, i can make gumbo year round.

Maybe he should have ordered a sub rather than a poboy.

Coincidence- we are not cousins. My question came about because I'd order a ham and swiss when out, but can't find one that is not grilled. I'll ask for a cold one next time.
Honestly, in the in 60's and 70's, when ordering a ham and swiss po boy, it was always cold. When making a ham and swiss po boy at home, do you make it with grilled ham and melted cheese? Just curious.

If you've been working outside in hot weather, a cold sandwich is pretty nice.

Wish I knew where because it was so good

I like ham and cheese hot or cold. If you want to go to the effort of serving it to me hot, I'm fine with that.
