If you're going to take the leap into a "restaurant" then this is about the easiest and safest way possible. Rent out a space, focus on a few items, no worries about waitstaff and such or a bar and alcohol licenses, with plenty of time to prepare. Jay has plenty of connections and resources around town when it comes to opening a place, I think he'll be just fine.

I'm sure he will be there a decent amount in the beginning, but I imagine he will have pupils run it after a while with some cameo appearances. To me it seems his end goal is having his own major tv show, which I think is reasonable at this point. Glad he's got something going here. It shouldn't be overly difficult considering it really is not a ton put into a pop up place like he is getting.

100 percent agree. Not worth it on here IMO.

^^^ Ignore this clown.

If this is in fact the real Chuck, this is absolutely the best decision you could make. Please continue. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Hi. It's the Big Mouth guy here. So...what kind of insight would you have into my friendship with Jay or about me in general that would make you think my association with him would be a bad thing for his business?

He's just jealous of your rap career.

I'm just curious as to why he would think that.

So much waster popcorn.

Well, there's never really such a thing... but you know what I mean.

There's a FB page and other social media featuring Gov't Taco.

quote:

Ducote says his menu will be different from the traditional Mexican taco offerings, and will be an amalgamation of his signature dishes, his favorite flavor profiles and food he has tried in his culinary travels.

“Every ingredient on every taco is going to be there on purpose and it’s going to be designed to compliment those flavors,” Ducote says. The menu will be small, featuring a handful of signature tacos—like a BBQ taco with his Jay D’s Louisiana Barbecue Sauce—and rotating daily specials.

He says people can follow his recipe testing and development on social media in the next 10 months before White Star Market opens.

I went to a Leblanc's dinner he was involved with and he seems like a good guy. It's amazing how many people were just badgering him though.

met him at a football tailgate. Extremely nice, down to earth guy. of course, i didn't badger him with questions about the show. just talked about food in general and what he had planned.

Looks like Govt Taco is going to open up a traditional restaurant. I think that's great he's expanding out of white star market but putting a taco shop a stone's throw from Superior Grill seems pretty aggressive,

Because people go to superior for tacos?

Also, itll be right next to a brewery, which is a great move.

The two are nothing alike. I’m sure neither is worried about the other

If Gov't tacos decides to do sangria margaritas then we can talk about a comparison. But as of now the two are nothing alike.
