I can't really get a handle on where exactly it's going to be. Possibly near that Irish dive bar and Albertsons there at Foster. Anybody know?

South side of Government between Mouton & Moore... Letterman's Blueprint is across on the East side.

I think it would be nice gesture for Eddie Jackson to feature the restaurant on an episode of his show.

Man, I am jealous of people who were smart enough to buy in Capital Heights in the past few years. Those property values are about to moon.

I have no idea who you are so I'm not going to get into Jay's business any further on here, especially since it's none of mine.

Short answer though, yes.

Typical for BR. Hate on a new place before trying it.

I really dont understand it. People bitch on here all the time about Baton Rouge and its culinary prowess or lack there of. Then they bash someone who's made it his career to try and better that same city, the one he calls home.

Its not a chain, its different, and its something new in Baton Rouge. Doesnt that fix a large majority of the shite you people bitch about every damn day?

I'm friends with Jay and really like him, but he has no clue how to run a restaurant. Especially the constraints that the government is putting on small business. I hope it works out but he better hire a bad arse restaurant biz minded person if he wants to succeed

How can this not be anything but good news, at this point? Good for Jay...

Holy shite! The hate is real on this board today. There's hate for Jay, his entourage, Chuck P, BR trying to do something for a change, ... It's a fricking taco stand in Mid City. What's not to like.

Meh, i made a joke about the name and got downvoted as if i were making a Hellen Keller joke.

Some of the comments are to be taken in jest, some are people who like to bitch about anything, some are people too defensive over jokes...

It's the internet. Don't take it seriously. Let the merits of the restaurant speak for itself when it opens.

Speaking of Jay's products, how is teh BBQ sauce? I despise sweet sauce, and prefer mine smokey. I typically only buy Stubb's sauce. Comparatively speaking, how is it?

You think he honestly just made a half assed decision to drop a ton of time and money into a restaurant without being prepared first?

what's the verdict on this White Star idea? I don't think it's come up on this board yet.

I like the idea. I just hope they get good, interesting places and the prices aren't silly. From what the owner said, he wants to bring in established restaurant folks, who are looking at trying something new or out of town operators who want to dip into the BR market.

it would probably be best if he opened up a few chains in town, surely he wouldn't get as much hate for opening those up instead of something on his own.

Well then, the good news is that he has 10 months to prepare before the White Star Market is going to open.

I still don't see the "bashing" or the "hate"

There is a difference between critical thinking, wondering how it might work and hate/bashing.
