Well unless Tin Roof owns the place, I don't think that would be the case.

I don't know, this year's version was meh every time I tried it. It was more brown ale than porter and the coffee was very subdued.

Still better than Turnrow, in my opinion.

Not that Turnrow is a bad beer, just not really my style.

None of this is really relevant anyway though, since Tin Roof isn't going to be opening a taproom in White Star Market.

True.

Hopefully they'll have some decent beer options in there though.

If White Star is what they say it will be a small satellite tap room would make sense.

as i understand it there will be a bar serving local/craft beers, possibly w/ a growler fill option.

and with communal seating, you can get your beer, grab a taco, and the person you're dining with can get something from a different vendor. Food Halls like these solve the constant struggle of "hey honey, what sounds good for dinner/where do you want to go?"

Will the beers on tap be controlled by the distubtror ? That's my biggest pet peeve with craft beer in this state.

what's the verdict on this White Star idea? I don't think it's come up on this board yet.

It'll have to operate the same as anywhere else in BR I'm sure.

Side note: When is Baton Rouge going to get a convenient, high profile place that does growler fills? I was in Houston a couple of summers ago and there was a place that did nothing but growler fills -- they must have had a couple of dozen different beers on tap to fill growlers with. There's a grocery store in Waveland, Mississippi where they have taps of six or so beers to fill growlers with. I'm talking good stuff, like Crooked Letter Brewing beers. I keep waiting for Whole Foods or Calandro's or Rouse's to jump in on this.

When the laws change. I think LA is about as bad as Georgia from what I can understand.
