What do you mean by "seafood restaurant"?

Muriel's is a decent, if uninspiring, place in the square with seafood dishes.

Yep, GW Fins for a pure seafood place.
If OP is looking for some kind of "cajun" seafood place, that will change things a lot.

While I love GW Fins (probably more than most people on this board), it isn't a truly Louisiana seafood restaurant. Most of their fish is flown in so if the OP wants something local I would look elsewhere.

Ehh, they'll typically have as much (if not more) local fish on their menu on any given day as any other place in town. The fact that they are also known for flying in more than just local may mask that fact perception-wise.

I agree with you otherwise, though. It's a great place.

another vote for GW but I don't think of it as being that close to jackson square. I'd definitely walk past alot of places closer to get GW fin's though
