Looking for ideas for a Christmas present for a neice and nephew that do a lot of outdoor grilling and frying. What essential items would you recommend, other than a 1st edition of MD's official cook book?

Since they grill a lot, how about some grill accessories for grilling vegetables. I have a few that are metal with lots of holes drilled in them and very shallow bowled to hold the vegetables better.

This keeps stuff from falling through the grates like will often happen with asparagus, green beans and other thinner vegetables when grilling.

Also consider the wire basket type tool for grilling fish. The filet is held between 2 wire sheets that make it easy to turn the fish to cook evenly.

All great suggestions especially the Thermapen One.

This might seem silly but a good kitchen towel is almost indispensable when cooking in my opinion. So this could be a cheap item to round out a gift if you need it - $18

Most used item in my kitchen.

Mash

Also great for roasting proteins in the oven so the bottom of whatever you're cooking stays out of the liquid in the sheet pan.

Victorinox "boning" knife w/ fibrox handle

Around $30 and various handle colors.

Bought the knife after seeing a lot of positive comments on here. I use it almost daily.

What about this one?

ThermoPro Lightning 1-Second Instant Read Meat Thermometer, Calibratable Kitchen Food Thermometer with Ambidextrous Display, Waterproof Cooking Thermometer for Oil Deep Fry Smoker BBQ Grill LINK

I've got alot of thermo pro products and they work really well. This one's on sale. Does what a Thermapen One does but cheaper.
