Wine is a horrible comparison
Why?
Most of the stuff I buy in $20+ price range is at least as complex as a fine bottle of wine.
I think the most money I've paid per ounce of beer is $25 for a 375mL bottle of Drie Fonteinen Golden Blend. That beer takes four years to make and a lot is lost in that 4th year. And it is worth every penny. It's one of the most complex beers I've ever had. A fantastic, world-class gueuze. It's at the apex of the style.

Can someone bring a bottle of Ghost to the Abita tasting room and dare them to say it doesn't blow away anything they've ever bottled. Maybe that would light a fire under their asses
Just left there. They said let them know when they can walk into a store in the biggest market in the state and buy Parish's regular offerings.

I'm sending one to Vermont and my good friend is dropping it off at the alchemist. Andrew was pretty excited about that when I told him.

Well, that's just mean. I hope Kimmich doesn't fall into a state of depression.

Another quantity over quality

I send a 12 pack of canebrake and 2 GitM and I get 12 headys. Call me crazy, but I personally don't give a flying frick what they think of it.

I knew I should have bought a case last week. I wasn't thinking.
Posted on 2/25/14 at 12:36 pm to TigerHam85
I'd make that trade all day.
You send tell whoever is sending you the Headys to send you Focal Banger as well, their new single IPA.

Damn straight. If you need help drinking the headys let me know.

Exactly. Parish could quit making Ghost, Dr Hoptogan, etc and probably make enough Canebrake to meet demand. But that's not what Andrew wants to do and I respect that.
Hopefully once they expand they can get more beer to NOLA. Abita can continue to supply mass amounts of mediocre beer to the whole country.

Calandros is sold out already

Let's face it, the people who post on this board are not average beer drinkers. If this board was reflective of the average beer drinker, there would be no BMC...

Let me know when NOLA makes a beer that people will flock to buy at $12-14 a bomber.
The reason you can buy NOLA (and Tin Roof and Bayou Teche and Covington) all over is that they just make OK beers with the occasional very good one. Why isn't NOLA doing some badass limited 5th anniversary beer in package format?

Gues ill continue to makes the rounds at Alexander's, mathernes, and whole foods until they finally put it on shelves

Flawed logic. So any beer on a shelf that is readily available is there because its not that good?

What does this have to do with anything at all in this thread? Just curious

I wish nola would sell some of their special releases in bottles. Some of the stuff I have had at the tap room is really good but you can't get it anywhere but there and even that is hit and miss when they have it. It seems like having a bottle line would be a quicker way to get beer out there in limited releases.

No because I can pair wine with food.
I like to drink sours with food actually. Especially when cooking at home.
I like sours and would buy more of them if they weren't all $15+ for a bomber or 750ml.

On the flip side, thats why visiting their taproom is awesome. They always have a bunch of beers on tap you cant get anywhere else. I wish parish would do this, it would make visiting the taproom worth it.

True! Part of the growing pains of any newer business.
