It is very good. So is the Monday special, paneed pork chop. I get it with roast beef gravy and provolone. Might be my favorite.

Been there many, many times when I lived in Metairie. Grew up 5 minutes from there. Don't forget the Wop salad

A quality RBPB or any po boy must have Liedenheimer bread. It’s the gold standard.

fried chicken liver poboy from Tessie's Place

I have heard of such things, but have never had one...sounds very interesting, as does the bacon-wrapped oyster po boy. In Atlanta, there are many places with shrimp po boys on the menu, but only one, called the Po Boy Shop, that stands out. My boss, a New Orleans native, swears it is legit. They have a variety of Po Boys, but not those two.

They do use Liedenheimer bread.

Lots of good suggestions in this thread.

I would consider Crabby Jacks "Well known", but still a good poboy

Can Confirm, Harrys in Larose is great. They grill the bread on the roast beef so it doesnt fall apart.

Shrimp bun was great too.

Love Harrys, Stop by there everytime im down in that area and get a chance.

They've been advertising lately that all their poboys are $9.99.

Arabi Food Store on Friscoville in Arabi across from the old Arabi Elementary School. Just about any po-boy is good and they make a damn good muffaletta too.

Great spot but I haven’t been over 10 years. Hope they still make that seafood muffaletta.

I used to live nearby once so I have to throw a mention to Come Back Inn on W. Metairie. Above average poboys and an excellent muffuletta. Most of their specials are good too but I don’t recommend their gumbo. Also, if you’re going to get a roast beef eat it there as they don’t travel well.

The owners’ family owned the Leeville Seafood Restaurant before Ida slid the whole place off into Bayou Lafourche. They know food. And I randomly met the couple that owns it on vacation a couple of years ago. Great people.
