The new Rouses is very disappointing compared to the ones in New Orleans.

Why you say that? Food selection is pretty similar to the Tchoup/Downtown store. Prepared food section not as much I would guess.

Besides some of the places already mentioned,

O'Brien's Grille is very good for steak and New Orleans creole food.

Cafe 615 Da Wabbit for home cooked/LA type food.

Make reservations there on a Friday night. You won't be disappointed .

I rarely go to the Wank and Saffron is worth going over there for multiple times. I'm itching to go back there.

Saffron is directly behind my office building. I've had it numerous times at parties. I just don't want to stay around after work.

Dammit. Wise is gonna turn the Wank into a full on hipster destination. They've already been spotted in Pho Tau Bay so I'm told.

Maybe.

The bowling alley property may be purchased. But they've been saying that for a while.

They own the building on Tulane.

The last time i was in PTB they talked about reopening the PTB express store within the year to capitalize on the new healthcare boom around Tulane Ave.
The bowling alley property is always "about to be sold", so who knows what the truth is in that.

As of last weekend, Mr Karl said that Walmart had optioned the property. But any plans to build aren't imminent, so they're not, exactly packed and ready to go. The TU ave building looked as though it had been power washed recently.

Anyone ever have the etouffee from Honey Whip Donuts in Algiers? Used to only be done on Friday but def worth the trip. Very hole in the wall type place.

Their etouffee is okay, but grab some bisque if/when they have it.

I'm still mourning the losses of China Blossom, Clementine's, and more recently Cafe Diblasi. If they were still open, my answer to the question would be Wor Wonton Soup, Mussels Clemintine (plus whichever dessert crepe), and Trout DiMare (plus Mario's tiramisu), respectively.
