Get on the public bus for $1/person and ride to Love Beach. Rent chairs and toys from the shack on the beach where they’ll run a tab for strong rum punch, cold beer, and fresh conch fritters.

Just returned yesterday. We went snorkeling with Snorkel Alaska in Ketchikan. Small shop, great guys, three guides with about a dozen swimmers. They provide everything, and have hot showers on return.
We saw lots of sea stars, various jellies, urchins, fish and crabs. Bald eagles overhead and whale spouts in the harbor we were in.

Got a place in Dadeville. Jumped a couple times before kids, but not in 10 years.

Take the #10 bus to Love Beach. 25min ride at $1.50/person.
There is a beach bar/snack shack on the beach that will rent you chair and beach toys. We got two chairs and toys for $15. The beach bar will deliver rum punch and conch fritters to you and run a tab.
The space isn’t crowded and has great snorkeling.

Parked in economy last weekend. $12/day, and they have shuttles back and forth. I didn’t wait more than 10min on either end for the shuttle. It was a much better experience than I expected.
