Prime NY strip is hard to beat. Used to be the ribeye but starting to become too fatty for me.

Prime Ribeye, and if you want to get even more specific, Ribeye Cap. Wagyu NY Strip is in the discussion as a good backup

Ribeye for a steak, but i prefer smoked tri-tip when it comes to beef overall.

The only place in Lafayette that I've seen it at was Whole Foods when they first opened, and they're now a shell of what they used to be and I never see it anymore, although I rarely shop there.

This literally happened about two weeks ago. Me: "Do you ever get any hanger steaks in?" The guy working the meat counter: "Never heard of it"
