HEB has gone all in on creating its own brand of cajun products, including crawfish boil seasoning. I've tried their andouille and it was ok, not great but not bad.
Their boil liquid is like opaque orange. Neither the liquid or the dry seasoning contain cayenne, which is really odd. I'm curious if anyone has tried it.
I agree with you about the andouille. It’s better than every other Texas andouille I’ve tried. I’m holding out hope that there will be something similar to Jacob’s or even Bergeron’s made in Texas one day. But HEB has not nailed it.
As to the boil seasoning, I’ve tried their boiled crawfish (which I assume uses their seasoning). It’s a no for me. It’s not terrible, it just doesn’t offer anything noteworthy.

They use their own seasoning I'm sure, but I doubt most of the folks that they hire to do the boiling know anything about boiling crawfish.

Chackbay
Isn’t Chackbay more of a heat/supplement element with little real flavor? I like it but can’t imagine using just that.

I use Chackbay to supplement the other powder and liquid seasonings. It adds “Chinese red pepper “ heat and flavor.

If you just want additional heat, this is tough to beat.

Louisiana Brand once marketed a straight Chinese Red Pepper product. Don’t believe they do anymore.

Go Cajunland and don't look back. They have less salt and it's just spicy enough. use 40 qt of water (2 5-gallons) per 4lb complete boil.

Has anyone used the Louisiana Reserve? I saw this seasoning at Rouses and was wondering if it was a good crawfish seasoning. I normally use Louisiana Fire, one bag of Chack bay and 16 oz. of Louisiana liquid.

They still sell it in 50 pound bulk. The Cajunland is the same stuff, I'm told. Either way, I use the Cajunland, and I like it just the same as I remember.

I found this thread looking to see if anyone has used Seither’s (NOLA) Amplified seasoning? Saw it in Zuppardo’s and I’ve always enjoyed his crawfish.

He's in Harahan. Great little spot that's been on Triple D. Never used his seasoning but I have had his crawfish and they were pretty dang good.
