If you are itching to go I’d recommend you give them a month or two to work it out, or maybe even three to be safe.

The food was fine at least, once it arrived. Knew we were in for a ride once the oysters beat the drinks to the table. To their credit they did apologize and made it right on the check.

IF the food was good and they made it right on the check its hard to argue with. Sounds like they have some shite to work out, but they did their part in making things right. Always takes a few weeks for a new place to get running smoothly/timing down.

THat's par for the course for any new restaurant in Baton Rouge
Once the newness wears off and they are not slammed it will get better
Trying to find good waiters/waitresses in this market is hard to do

Bartenders always back up early on when they’re learning the layout and drink menu and such. They probably need extra help behind the bar for a while. They’ll figure that out

could you be more dramatic? did you get robbed? food poisoning? slip on a wet floor?

No. You experienced bad service and they took responsibility for it.

How bout just title it "bad experience at Dragos, but they took care of it"?

Man, I like to wait at least a month before going to a new restaurant. Especially a high profile place like Drago's. Best to let the kitchen, wait and bar staff get in the groove and the weak hires get weeded out.

it's shite like this that makes me glad i never went into the restaurant business, or any business catering to the general public for that matter.

OP, thoughts and prayers to you in this difficult time

The BR Redux of a New Orleans restaurant inevitably sucks. Same in Houston.

We went yesterday about 10 of us. Oysters were a spot on and the lobster was the same as Metairie location. Had no issues with service and family did not complain. Not sure your problem but, maybe spend time in food service and you may not be so critical. Where do you work? I'm sure the general public would have issues as well. I wonder why everything seem to close in BR because people like you need to bash it before a brand new business weeds out the kinks.

Funny enough my roommate went Monday night and had no complaints, granted he probably reasonably expected something of a longer than typical wait

You should give every restaurant a month or two. How do people not know this?

I agree, but someone has to eat there, so they can work the kinks out.

But you felt you needed to run to the internet to trash them anyway?

I’ve eaten Drago’s three times at the Nola Downtown Hilton and while the chargrilled oysters are good I’d still say Chimes East are better as well as the garlic dipping bread. Just my opinion.

Mansurs used to have great char broiled oysters but I've been out of town for about 10 years

Chargrilled at Dragos are hands down my favorite. They do it right and keep it simple. I find other restaurants try to put a twist on it and it throws it off.

That being said, the rest of the food pretty much sucks.
