Riverside Patty cheeseburger meal with fries for $6-7. And it's a full sized burger.

Publix subs (pub subs). Less than $10 and a whole sub is too much for most people to eat.

Dining out? We've cut way back. Combination of the prices being too high (not for our budget, but out of principle) and the fact my wife and I have both become pretty damn good cooks. We can cook a USDA prime steak dinner with sides, cocktails, and some wine for 25% of what we'd pay at a nice steakhouse. Don't have to worry about driving home, dealing with the risk of poor service, tipping on an already exorbitant bill, etc.

The River Shack in Old Jefferson had an awesome special today. Roulade of redfish stuffed with a mushroom and sausage duxelles, sautéed asparagus, smoked Gouda polenta and topped with a crawfish cream sauce and a few shrimp. Cost 18.75. Now that’s a value.

$4 Taco Tues all day at my local Mexican place. 3x tacos for $4 w chips/salsa. I'm there right now.

$4 each? Or you mean you get 3 for $4? Because $4 is pretty standard a la carte taco pricing and it certainly doesn’t need to be Tuesday That said, I agree that a la carte items with complimentary chips and salsa is the way to go.

Even overpriced Superior is cheap when we just get a la carte tacos and enchiladas. I don’t care much for rice and beans.

Sounds awesome. But I have to do stuff other than eat and sleep after lunch.

Acropolis on Veterans has a four course dinner for less than thirty bucks.
Also NOLA Mia on St Claude has a variety of inexpensive seafood and pizza deals.

Coupons that come in the mail from Subway and Burger King. 3 foot long subs for $17.99 or something like 6 burgers and fries for around the same price.
