I know ive seen this posted once before, but he was a good F&D board buddy of mine and highly respected. I know he was older so I think the worst has happened, but does anyone have any info? He was a regular on here for years and I really do hope all is well..

TIA

His Blueberry Crumb Cake was the first and only sweet thing I've ever made from scratch, and it turned out great.

Blueberry Crumb cake

I'm going to make it again this weekend now.

Thanks for the reminder.

Ive made several of his recipes. Glad I could bring light to this situation.

He was such a kind soul that knew better than to mess with the OT, but he loved cooking with his wife. I hope everything is good with him, but I guess I have to assume the worst. The regulars of the F&D board like yourself know and remember how good of a person and poster he was. Its very sad assuming what I think is the case.

Maybe I’m making this up but didn’t he get tired of people trolling his picture recipe threads.

I remember voting for that picture contest he was in where he could win a trip to Italy or something.

In hindsight a trip to Italy wouldn’t have been all that great

If true that's a shame

Those threads were great

I generally enjoyed the guy’s posts, but he could be terribly thin skinned. Dude could get instantly huffy and puffy over any post he so much as perceived as doing anything but deifying him as the greatest thing ever. I can recall some odd reactions to some of the most benign of responses he would get in threads from me and others.

This. This FB is on college sports website...for primarily LSU fans. It’s not for the meek or thin skinned. Just the way it is.

MD proved himself to be the latter, consistently. Nothing wrong with that...just the way it is.

Too many people trolled him. And he made himself easy bait.

I made a few of his recipes and they were great

I know an 80'ish lady who posts on a board, and she is the same way. Sweet and nice for weeks, then reads someone's innocuous post the totally wrong way, feels she has somehow been insulted, and threatens to quit posting, etc. like a child.

Definitely thin skinned. When he ventured over to the O-T which is not a place he needs to be, to garner votes for his Moscato Pears, it must have took every bit of self control he could muster to not lose it with Terd Ferguson and a few others.

Hope M-Dog is doing well, all his food looks delicious.

Rumours of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.

He was a great poster, I don't really remember people trolling his threads though. I hate that all his old posts have dead links now due to the hosting site going under.

He was really upset with the website for not stickying his trip to Italy voting thread and it seemed like he blamed not winning on the admins. I'm pretty sure the guy he was competing for first was using some sort of spam bots though

Wrong. Trolls were rare. Most people heaped lavish praise. In the end he started seeing everything that wasn’t fawning over his dish as a personal assault on his existence. Then some kid on the OT started sticking his pictures in the lunch thread and photobucket stopped hosting his photos. So he took his football and went home.

Now Rohan trolled the shite out of him back in his early days but Mdawg had much thicker skin back then and could hold his on. It made for some great internet.

I’m sure he’ll read this thread. Sup Dawg, hope all is well

Now that he is gone there is no one to discuss tots with
And I made tater tot casserole this week and everything.

Seriously those picture recipe threads are easy for new cooks to follow and learn. There is certainly a place for that on a college message board.
