Planning on heading home after the game Saturday and will hit 190 to get to I49. I have a couple of recommendations for a good meal as we get out of town...

1. Soileau’s Dinner Club
2. Steamboat Warehouse
3. Mama's Fried Chicken

Thoughts on those and anyone have something they recommend over these three? Thanks!

Out of those 3, easily Steamboat Warehouse. Matter of fact, Flounder Diane at Steamboat Warehouse…

Cafe Josephine in Sunset

Is a great place. Not open until 5PM for dinner on Saturday.

Out of the 3 you mentioned Steamboat, but Mama's is really good if you want drive through chicken.

I cannot help with your dinner recs; just not familiar with the area.

However, if you live in DFW, and are traveling US 190 through Krotz Springs, then it is a golden opportunity to stop by Kartchner's, Billy's, etc, and stock a cooler with smoked boudin, crab pies, smoked sausage, and on.

Before Billy's got all fancy with their new building, there wasn't an experience better than sitting in your vehicle in the parking lot, drinking 2-3 redbulls and eating boudin wraps and shite and watching the raccoons play in the dumpster. Billy's went Hollywood.

this is your answer. Solid menu selection , generous food portions, affordable prices, and the food is the real deal. Highly recommend the fried eggplant, best I have EVER had anywhere. They sometimes have an appetizer special called "spider legs??" it's soft shell crabs cut in 1/4's , fried, and served with a dipping sauce.

I have a group of 10-12 friends, and 2-3 times a year, someone wants to go to NYM's for their birthday. It's a 1hr. 15 min drive from my front door and I have never said NO. The food is that good.

I agree, some of the better around those parts.

Imagine being upset that a business became successful enough to replace the dumpster-view seating section.

Problem with Soileau's and Steamboat is they might not be open.

I would maybe check for something in Alexandria, as that might be closer to an actual dinner time.

This comes from someone who is from Opelousas, btw.

I was more horrified by washing down boudin with Red Bull

If leaving BR around 3:00 or so, I would have a light light snack on the way to Shreveport and stop at Ki Mexico, no question.

I definitely agree with Does in Greenville but if you are driving from Baton Rouge to Dallas and end up in Greenville you made a wrong turn somewhere then missed all of the signs.

Steamboat would be the most efficient on your route, but I think they open at 5 pm. Cool ambiance in the old warehouse. Soileau’s would be second choice and open 11-9. Mama’s would be open and would be quicker than the others, but way more casual, not much of a dining room.
Kartchner’s over Billy’s 24/7.

NYM’s looks like a nice restaurant from the road but I have never been there.
Speed limit in Livonia (cameras) and Washington.
