Will be in NOLA all week next week for a work event. Hubby is coming in one night and we'd like to try a new place. We've been to most of the old traditional places...anywhere new you'd recommend?

N7. Several mentions for The Husky but I actually prefer their sister restaurant Pigeon & Whale across the street better.

If you want steak Doris. Costera is a little bit down the road, but it is definitely different than the others. It’s the same guys who have Osteria Lupa which is also great.

Went too and enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed with the portions but the food was interesting in a good way. Pretty pretty pricey.

Highly reccomend Dolfy's. That is the best pork dish i have ever tasted in my life.

Also, something out of the ordinary is this amazing italian place in the 7th ward that has dinner downstairs and then has burlesque shows upstairs nightly directly after dinner called Pulcinella. Dinner and a show

I’ll add Evviva to the mix. Fun spot in the old Franklin restaurant building. Great grilled dishes and homemade pastas. The chefs are Rebecca Wilcomb and Marcus Jacobs.

Per their site:
Rebecca Wilcomb is particularly well known for her acclaimed work at Herbsaint, where she earned a nomination for the James Beard Foundation Best Chef: South award. Marcus Jacobs is also known as the chef and co-owner of Lil’ Dizzy’s Cafe and for his advocacy of local food traditions.
