Just ate at this new chain. Pretty trash. Probably the worst meal I’ve had in a couple years. McDonald’s food is better than this. We were the only ones at this place. It will not be open this time next year. Definitely not quality and over priced.

Never heard of it but I can tell you weren't loving it.

That menu blows. Hot dog maybe?

Lord I wish we could just get a good hot dog stand here. Not some gourmet fried egg, lobster Mac and cheese truffle oil on a pretzel bun hot dog.

Just an honest to god mustard and onions, dab of relish in a soft steamed fresh American hot dog bun.

Or a good chili and cheese.

Is frankies dawg house by zippys no longer open? It’s been a looong time since I’ve been there but I remember they had great hot dogs and really good Cajun fries- them orange crispy ones

Thought Crave was one of those wood-fired pizza joints that've been popping up all over town. Guess not.

Speaking of those places, I tried the one in DS near Bass Pro (Lit?). It was decent--certainly a step above all the regular chains.

Frankies has the potential to be great but they’re slow and very pricey for what you get.

I can’t get you today there for less than $15 for a hot dog and fries.

The best way I can describe it is similar to just an average concession stand at a minor league ball park. There are many places in town with better BBQ and the hot dogs are nothing more than...well...hot dogs.

Nice folks. But I don’t see where there is any demand for this

It’s Cravin Street Pizza
It’s pretty good

Just got a Lit in Central, it wasn’t as good as I remembered

Remember Lum's? I used to really enjoy that place.
Also I liked Chicago Al's. Hard to beat a really good Hot Dog.

Trash!!! They have the same problem as Dat Dog! To worried about how many specialty dogs they offer and cant even produce a good quality classic one!

I know some are just like, big deal its just a hot dog
but a classic done right is hard to beat and should cost $10. KISS method should be followed.

For me:

1. Chicago Style
2. New York Style
3. Detroit Style

Yes I remember Lum’s And that’s what I’m talking about. Steamed in beer. They were on Florida in front of the old Shopper’s Fair. If you’ve seen The Irishman it was Jimmy Hoffas favorite hot dog. And Ed Partin, who was the Baton Rouge Teamster’s Local Business Agent wore the wire that sent Hoffa to prison in the early 60’s.

Frankie’s is like the gourmet I described in my post. I’ll stop in once in awhile but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about like Coney Island dogs or like The Varsity in Atlanta.

And Frankie’s never has fresh buns.

Wasn’t crave the restaurant that started the huge debate thread over when it’s appropriate to ask to be seated according to closing time?

How were the beer prices? Self serve taps is probably the only reason I would go. But if they're the same or more expensive than MidTap then there's no reason to go.

If I wanted a hot dog, I'd probably go to Burgersmith. I haven't been in a while, but it looks like they have $2 hot dogs and $1 fries during happy hour. I guess the 2 for 1 Smith Burgers and Unlimited Toppings nights are a thing of the past.

I'm not sure there is anything easier to make at home than this.

Congratulations...you’ve officially started a thread on Food & Drink about hot dogs.

I think I’ve seen it all now.
