For me, most mornings it is:

Into a burr mill grinder into an AeroPress into my cup with a little bit of sweetener added. In the Summer I'll switch it up and make cold brew instead.

Why that grinder? Just curious

I buy beans for espresso from the same dude each week and don’t jump from bean to bean. This grinder has large burrs and a good reputation for consistency. It’s also supposed to be very quiet and very quick. I can dial it in and dose quickly with this machine.

I currently have a Baratza encore esp. It gets the job done but it is loud and throws grounds all over due to static and just the way that it is.

The Eureka works well as a single dose or using the hopper. If using the hopper i can just push the portafilter against the button and fluffy grounds will shoot out, quietly. Super easy.

I was getting annoyed by my Baratza. Too many trade offs. Like anyone irrationally engaged by something, i had to upgrade. Getting this particular model at about $180 under domestic price made it an easy call.

Why does Starbucks Pike taste burnt at most Starbucks but not at every Starbucks?

Starbucks wants uniformity more than they want good flavor. If you roast to just past the first crack, you’ll have a brighter, more acidic coffee, and you’ll taste more notes of blueberry, or chocolate, or whatever. If you keep roasting, you begin to roast out these distinctive notes and your product becomes more uniform. Starbucks will roast past the second crack to get this. Unfortunately, for people who truly love coffee, this flavor profile is more burnt than tasty.

Made a rookie mistake this morning. Halfway through my shot, the water ran out. I still drank that under extracted sour bomb. Going to pull another one mid morning.

Just finished a bag of this off too. Very good! I still prefer big river from them, but Le Grand is a close second

I got my Breville Barista Express about 2 or more years ago. Took about a week to get it figured out and dialed in.

I started using Cafeciteaux coffee beans, but eventually got tired of it. Then went to Cedar House, a small coffee shop off of Jones Creek, but they shut down not too long after. Then i started going to Reve' for my beans. My main goal was going for the freshest roasted beans. I'm starting to get burnt out on Reve' now.

I did find some beans from Alexander's that i can't remember the name, maybe Prairie??? But that was fantastic. WHen i ran out i got 2 bags of reve' again and now i'm wishing i would have stuck with that. I'll be going back there.

I've also liked Buddy Brew's Cubano Espresso. They are out of Tampa, but their beans are at Fresh Market.

Congregation Coffee out of Algiers is what got me really into coffee. I stopped drinking their stuff though.

Prior to the Breville, i would use an aeropress with a Capresso burr grinder.

A few tools i have for the Breville that are invaluable to me is the portafilter extender similar to this (mine is black).

And this Luxhaus Calibrated Espresso Tamper. Took the guess work out of if i was tamping too much or not.

I want to get into roasting my own beans. There's a facebook page called "Kamado Coffee Roasters" that i follow. I already have a rotisserie for my KJ, just need the correct basket and where to source the beans.

Flamjeaux, Northshore Coffee(Haven), PJs for beans

I'm not a coffee snob by any means, but Haven's beans are really good. I got their canister for the coffee collective deal they're a part of and you get a discount on beans by the pound. It also gives you access to more beans than what they've got on the shelf. I'm a big fan of their Brazilian bold roast.

Jura E8, Milk cooler and mug warmer. We have been using the Kirkland line of their single origin organic beans right now it’s from Mexico, but I think the run of those is ending.

Orleans Coffee Exchange is local, has been servicing most of the fine dining restaurants in NOLA for years and properly roasts an amazing variety of beans from around the world. I've been using their coffee for years now, have tried other coffees that are also excellent, and I still have found no reason to switch from them. Even if you get it just for their amazing chicory blend you'd be happy; it's the best out there.

Same. I've liked their beans and you really don't pay an upcharge for the canister itself so after some fill ups it pays for itself.

I just do a one half-caff each morning in my French press. I mix the half caff myself, usually a Lavazza + Publix Colombian decaf. It works and it's easy.

I do like the offerings from Philly Fair Trade and will sometimes give and get those as presents. I particularly like the Peruvian.

a retailer in Italy, Espresso Coffee Shop ... I just ordered a Eureka Specialita.

I ordered it yesterday during the noon our our time, and UPS just notified me that it was delivered to UPS at about 9 am Italy time this morning, and has already cleared import customs. It should be delivered on Monday. That's much faster than the US retailers.

I'm glad to hear it isn't just me, the static when the humidity is low just makes a damn mess.
