Coffee Hardware as a gift

So this year getting the SO a Kitchen Aid Burr Coffee Grinder as well as the Cold Brew distiller. She loves to cook/bake and also loves coffee so it hurts my wallet to see her spend $8 or whatever a day at starbucks. She will definitely like being able to make her own coffee and try different recipes/etc...
Maybe not this go round but probably within the next year I will also get her a much nicer coffee maker. She already has a basic coffee machine so I skipped that this go around to get her some stuff she didn't have. I know that since she's getting this stuff she will want to step up her coffee maker game. She mentioned something called a nespresso. Is that actually any good or is it more just a popularly marketed product? I'm looking to get her something in the $100-$200 range but can go higher (or lower).

I bought a Nespresso and didn't like it at all. It, to me, is just an expensive Keurig (coffee pods), which is not my preference.
I think that if she really likes coffee, a scale to measure out beans, a bur grinder, pour over kettle and Chemex would be what I would buy.

If she's trying recipes and buys 8 dollar drinks at Starbucks I don't think she's into coffee in the way you and I probably are. She probably needs a superautomatic or an espresso machine.
If she is into American coffee proper, then Chemex or a nice french press or a Technivorm would be good ideas.

A Nespresso is a good cheap entry into espresso based drinks. If you want the real deal I think you need a super automatic which is much more expensive. We don't use ours too often but if I need a quick cup in the afternoon it's nice to have.
My wife and I typically do a large french press in the morning but we both like brewed coffee. It's an inexpensive workhorse, but brewed coffee is much different from espresso based drinks.

Disagree on nespresso, it’s very good coffee but it’s also expensive. But you really need to figure out what type of coffee she likes, as said. The larger nespresso has a lot of options, but without knowing her preference I’d have a hard time recommending it.
Nespresso is a more swanky Keurig. I have both and it’s definitely a step up.
Coffee is not that sophisticated though. You don’t need expense equipment to make good coffee, it just takes a little effort if you don’t want a fancy machine.
Better beans, better roast, and a better grind are more important and less time consuming then the machine or contraption imo.

Give the Moka Pot a look.
It pretty much makes a drink in between an espresso and a drip coffee.
She may not like it, but it's pretty cheap if so.

I was reading a few reviews on the Kitchen Aid burr grinder and it has a number of questionable reviews. I have a Baratza encore and it does great. Just double check if that Kitchen Aid is really the best choice.
I have a Funnex by Chemex for single cup pour over. Filters are too pricey. Thinking of switching to a Hario Switch or something else with cheaper filters. Makes great coffee though.

Nespresso is the best cup of coffee I've ever had. I've never been to Italy, I'm a coonass. $150 for the machine, about $2 for each pod. My ol'lady got bored with it and still hits the Starbucks. Good luck young sir!

My wife bought a Cuisinart pour over coffee maker and we havent used it yet. We like plain black coffee, and she saw it for 60% off at the Williams-Sonoma outlet.
