Trying to think of something for my dad and I'm drawing a complete blank here

He has just about every gadget and grill accessory I can think of and certainly no shortage of quality knives

I might be down to looking at consumable items at this point

Any ideas as far as consumable items go?

Get him some fine spices from RumiSpice or Diaspora. It will blow away whatever he buys from his grocer. Almost no one has Ceylon cinnamon and it's way better in my opinion than the cassia cinnamon from the store.

Homemade chili powder. That's what I'm giving my family.

Does he have a high end wood cutting board? People like different sizes and varieties. I have one with a juice groove, one without. I have a smaller one and a larger one.

I second the wagyu recommendation.

A good cookbook is an easy choice.

Jelly of the month club is always a good choice.

I'm hesitant about a cook book because they appear to be just collecting dust.

Speaking of jellies I may run to the farmers market this morning and grab some pepper jelly and start assembling a gift basket. I know he likes those

Well, there you go. Add some fancy balsamic vinegar, hot sauce, olive oil, etc.

That's a tough one. I get food related Christmas presents, etc from people who know that I love to cook. I pretty much have everything I want in that regard, and whatever I receive usually ends up sitting on a shelf unused.

I decided on a carbon steel pan from misen.

If there is one thing they might be lacking it's high quality saute pans.

And that won't take up too much space. They really don't have the storage for another appliance and I can't think of one they're lacking anyway.

4 quart Staub $99.00

You can look around and find different colors but it’s getting limited. It’s a great gift-I’ve given a few of them.

No it is a good deal. They run it pretty much every holiday season. I think MD posted it 3 or 4 years ago on here and I’ve bought them each year.

I’m looking at those Misen pans. Might get one for myself. How are they compared to say the DeBuyer? Cost wise they are similar.
