So really, the only choice is KJ or Primo. GBE doesn't bring anything to the table to put them over the top other than name recognition. Correct?

I'm not saying BGE is crap. My brother-in-law has one and it's incredible. But if i can get a KJ, that comes with some common sense stuff that BGE should come with as standard considering the price point, then why wouldn't i get a KJ?

Bingo. That's the way I see it.

The new KJ's look really nice! BGE's gonna have to step it up soon to compete.

Protip: They have the ability to give discounts and will work with you if you ask. They are good people.

I went there last summer. The girl told me they could not discount the price at all. I walked out. Will not go back.

The firebox divider on the Primo is something the other brands don't have and it is a very nice feature...

If you're a Costco member, you should really look at the pitboss

It's a 24" diameter ceramic with stand, heat deflector, dual grates, cover, etc for 599

I've had mine for a couple of months and I'm very happy with it so far

You won't convince me that a BGE does anything better than this one can. You are paying for name

Have any reviews on it?

I did some google search and one of the reviews wasn't glowing. Didn't say it was terrible, just listed some negatives it had (mostly minor).

I think one of them was the accessories for it didn't fit properly, somethign about the top damper, and the shallow lid making it a tight fit for a ham.

I looked at those when the Laffy Costco first opened. They were on sale for three something.. seems like a rock solid setup.

Anyone try a PK Grills PK360? I watched the video on that thing and it looks amazing. Made from cast aluminum, should last a lifetime.

I use a chimney and a paper towel with a squirt of cooking oil on it to light it off. Works every time.

Check Tramonte's in BR. They are a specialty meat shop, but also sell kamado cookers, or at least they used to. Forget the brand they carry.....either KJ or Grill Dome.

I remember a while back i used to see them there, didn't know if they still had them. I also see that Shopper's choice has them for $1199 with the stand, which is what i'm looking for.

Anyone own a Weber summit charcoal? I've recently begun to look at this thing very hard. Seems like the cooking ability of a kamado, with the durability of a kettle.

If I was in the market for a kamado, this would be my choice.

It has several advantages. It is lighter, made of metal so it won't crack, includes a cart and quick light up option and is a Weber so you know it is a quality product backed by a great warranty.

I have a large BGE, firebox is cracked and I did a bad job replacing the original gasket with a nomex off amazon...did a 16 hour brisket that was the best I've ever had..it held 225 and the only time I lifted the lid was to take pics.
