I have a BGE. My brother has that one. His won't hold low temps like my egg. Other than that, not a lot of difference that I can see.

So I got the new KJ and it is awesome.
They made some major and awesome upgrades. They fixed the gasket issue by using new nomex/stainless mesh gasket. The firebox is not one unit. It comes in 5 pieces that join together with a stainless ring so the box won't crack. It has a spring assisted hood and a latch to keep the KJ closed.
I tried it or last night on some burgers. I've been using a Weber kettle so I need to get used to my temps. I overcooked the burgers but this thing is absolutely incredible.

Nice unit. Nice assortment of grill accessories. Now get busy getting that thing dirty!

Did burgers last night. Over cooked them, so I need to get used to my temps. Plan to smoke a pork shoulder next weekend and maybe do some pizza during the week.
It also came with a pot holder ring, so I can cook just about anything outside now.

As we all have done in the beginning.

Looftlighter
Thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread until mine crapped out after one year. Your mileage may vary. Back to using a MAP butane torch. Butane canisters are cheap at $3 each.
Remember to clean out your firebox after every 4-5 cooks to clean out ashes and keep your vent holes unobstructed underneath your lump. You'll understand this whenever you have trouble getting your fire going.
