Prepare for some sticker shock when you see the prices.

I eventually found "a guy" for when I want to cook rabbit.

yup, had a friend tell me she needed 3 or 4 to make a big dinner, found them in the store for $9.99, thought that was a little expensive since her husband had always got them hunting, but damn near had a fit in the checkout line when she realized they were 9.99/lb not per rabbit....she did not buy them

Cormier's in Cankton (above Lafayette) sells rabbit meat. Or did anyway, I've been out of the Lafayette area for about 4-5 years now.

Piggy Wiggly usually has it, and cheaper than anyone else.

Visit the other side of town.

This is true. I was shocked at what they get for the frozen rabbits at Rouses. You could buy a real nice steak at that price per pound.

My rabbit guy was a good friend of mine that died several years ago and he would sell me his fresh home raised rabbits dressed for a lot less than I could find them anywhere else.

I literally laughed out loud the first time I saw what a store wanted per pound for a frozen rabbit. I eventually found a guy that would sell me the whole thing for like $8 per rabbit. Objectively not cheap, but I felt like I was stealing something, comparatively
