Exactly.
One of the Hispanic women that had a different job worked her way into making a couple feature videos. One of the other on air talent chefs decided to virtue signal and compare salaries on social media. It ended with all of the really skilled people leaving. Now BA is a conglomeration of confused gendered people of every origin except American born Caucasians which makeup the majority of this Country. Bold strategy Cotton.

Ah yes, Sohla. The Bangladeshi one that ruined it all.
She interviewed and was hired in a position that advertised itself at $50k. A few months into the job, she requested a raise and was give a $10,000 raise. A little while after that, she realized employees that had their own YouTube shows were making money on that and she wants to be paid for the appearances that she made on those shows. She was denied this.
She had only been an Bon Appétit for six months when Covid hit and she posted on social media that she was being paid less due to her race. Coworkers share their stories thinking they were siding with her, but what they actually did was make it clear that it had absolutely nothing to do with her race and it’s just the way crappy pay is at Bon Appétit. Nobody was paid for appearances. That’s was normal and had nothing to do with race.
A lot of her coworkers quit their jobs in solidarity with her.
No doubt I’m sure Bon Appétit had its share of issues considering all the resignations but still such a misrepresented situation.
She has been very crappy in interviews in regards to her ex coworkers who stood up for her , and overall just left a very bad taste my my mouth.
But yeah. I joined Molly’s Patreon following for $5/month. She was my fave.

Isn't she doing stuff with Babish now?

They didn't post videos for several months and when they came back it was diversity central and the folks who made the site interesting were nowhere to be seen. Site is dead to me.

Wtf does any of this mean? Am I that out of the loop that I have no idea what any of this is?

Brad is still doing videos, which is all I really cared about anyways.

Her Vulture interview showed what a petty, insecure, horrible person she is.

Yep, which is exactly the reason why I checked out on his content.

Their #1 star is a white guy from New Jersey. Plus they still have Chris Morocco and Andy Baraghani. And who gives a frick what the racial make-up of a cooking show is? Make good stuff and teach me something and I'll watch. If you don't, I wont'.

That and Babish has started to enjoy the smell of his own farts a little too much.

The first video they did after the hiatus was a black woman making vegan "fried chicken." For a company that just lost all of it's staff because of racism allegations, I don't see how you can be so tone deaf.
The new people just aren't interesting or cook things I am interested in (like the one lady who is all vegan). I have only watched like 2 videos since they came back, and it doesn't even appear in my recommended videos anymore.
The test kitchen from late 2019-May 2020ish was tGOAT cooking channel.

Speaking of good channels, I really enjoy Eater. A little less on the home cooking side, but they show some really interesting stuff.

Yeah. I haven’t watched. Before all this shite went down, she started gaining a creepy level type of following on the BA subreddit and I just did not understand it. Her personality is very quiet and most of what she would say was muttered under her breath. No knock on her talents - I just didn’t get the fandom.
Like any business, BA determines pay and airtime based on the data (views/likes). She didn’t get high viewership and she wasn’t a senior level employee yet, so I’m not sure why she expected to be paid like Delaney who had been there several years.
Best of luck to her, but someone who jumps to race the minute the feel they’re slighted is not someone I’d go out on a limb and hire.

Yep. Every single BATK coworker went on hiatus and stood up for her, some to a greater degree than others, and she’s done nothing but trash them. She’s seemingly a pretty darn calculating and malicious person who plays it off as being a victim.

Agreed. The "Babish Culinary Universe" creation is a bit cringe.

The comments for that video were glorious

My favorite was the downfall of Alex Delany with all of his smug quips on social media only for it to come out he had a Confederate Flag birthday cake and used a homosexual slur in a skit.
Twitter was not kind and cancel culture came for one of its allies quickly.
