We love it.

Wife and I have been probably 7-10 times, brought family and different friends multiple times as well and nobody has ever had a bad meal.

Went once. The three of us got totally different entrees. All were fantastic.

I cannot imagine saying:

at a place like this. Hell, I can't recall ever saying that about any place.

I like it. If for nothing else, it has a little bit diversity in the menu. If I want a hamburger, or ribeye, or fried shrimp, it's not likely the place I'm going. But there aren't too many places in BR where you can order quail on couscous, or pork schnitzel, or rabbit spaetzel.

The drinks are fine. The atmosphere is fine for a group of friends. While I wouldn't say it is the place I would eat for my last meal ever, I've never have a bad experience there either.

I've probably been around 10 times, and I can't say I've ever eaten a remotely bad meal there. In addition, I've always had better than average waiters.

It has a fun vibe to it, as well, and I believe it to be a great addition to the BR food scene.

Superior Grill on Highland is 'inedible' and cooks their food 3 days in advance per some geniuses on this board

Rouj Creole is hit or miss for me. The food is the hit part. The crowd is the miss.

Good variety of food not found at many places in town
Apps are great
Rabbit spaetzle was awesome
They even have a kids menu
One of the better places in town IMO

I've been there twice. First time, apps were great but entrees were terrible. Second time it was mediocre all around. Won't be back.

Absolute worst "up scale" restaurant in Baton Rouge. I went a few weeks ago and still talk about how bad it was to people. Ordered the seafood roll, stuffed mushrooms, and chicken marsala. The seafood roll consisted of a seafood mix from Sams frozen section, the stuff mushrooms were just disgusting and very dry (even with the little lemon they provided) and my chicken Marsala came out cold and slimey. By far the worse establishment of City Group Hospitality.

They probably don't even know how to cook it because nobody orders it. If you can choose from several fresh fish options, various other seafood dishes, or even ostrich and rabbit, why on earth order chicken?

No excuse for the chicken being bad, but it's likely rarely ordered.

If it sucks because nobody orders it, take it off the menu.

I like Rouj, though I'm sure there are some items more on the miss side than the hit.

I like the sweet crawfish pudding, creole seafood roll, steak sensation salad, the butter beans side, the fish dishes. Looks like they removed some other things they used to have like the beef stroganoff.

Last time we ate there we had kangaroo, but not seeing that there anymore.
