Hart’s BBQ in Kentwood

Chicken cracklins app
Loaded baked potato with brisket
Small rib box - 2 sides
Large rib box - 2 sides
6 small ranch cups

Total $48.36 tax included

At least this is what my Discover card statement tells me I paid about a week ago

I've made that mistake before and it was beef rib special day.

Big time sticker shock at checkout, lol, but it was damn good.

Absolutely 0% chance you do briskets better then BBQ joints

I can guarantee the brisket I do at home on a Traeger is miles better than anything I've had in Baton Rouge.

Better than a great Texas BBQ place? Absolutely not... but I don't live there.

Is that 10 whole wings or 10 wing parts/pieces?

I think that would be 5 traditional whole wings - or - 10 lower and middle wing pieces.

Ty. Bbq is easy

Making it a business is hard. Serving hot food seems to be hard. But if you are serving chopped beef, at least chop it

This entire thread is fricked.

Yes every restaurant is high.
Cooking at home is even high.

But goddamn…thirty dollars for wings and brussel sprouts?
And can we stop pretending Brussels are a special side ? They suck

This! The only exception is when we go to. NC in July we stop at Skylight in for whole hog and it is reasonably priced compared to,most.

Nah. Lunch brings good content to these boards. I DVd not because he was wrong but rather that he missed the point of the OP. OP wasn’t doing a BBQ restaurant comparison of prices; he was saying how obnoxious the price is regardless of the restaurant or its competition.

The problem is that BBQ has become very expensive to dine out for, but a big part of that is due to the resources and work involved in prepping it and serving large numbers of people. Plus the won’t shortage has made it a premium price product. It sucks but it’s the new world we live in (insert political point here if you’d like)

Normally I love to DV and trash Lester posts, but he nailed that and makes a great point. I’d destroy his and send that CCBBQ one back.

Not sure why people are comparing Blue Oak pricing to some rural BBQ place. The operating and labor costs in New Orleans are going to be much higher than a rural area and I believe everyone is making $15+ per hour and the kitchen usually has around 8-10 people in it during the busy times.
I do agree it’s pretty expensive and one of the reasons I don’t each there too often. The previous happy hour with 5 dollar sliders/wings/nachos and half off beer was their peak.

They have traditional bone-in wings at the location by me.

They are advertising other items more nowadays, but they absolutely have wings.
